Small campground, off the beaten path. Level sites. Some shaded, some not. Free amenities include bikes, scavenger hunt, mini golf, pool, etc. Everything could use a little update, but the bathrooms were clean and the people were pleasant.

We’re told u can’t park on grass have to pay to park but there were multiple vehicles parked on grass that remained there entire stay. The bath house wasn’t cleaned garbage on floors. Prices were also raised. Been coming here for years probably won’t be back! Friday was cold they were power washing the Jump pad when we arrived not sure why, but it remained wet the entire stay and kids were

Clean and quiet sites, all utilities worked fine, including a good WiFi signal at the south end of the campground. Showers and restroom were clean and well supplied. Super friendly staff, and convenient location.

No set hours for bathroom cleaning, laundry room blocked by wood splitter and spider in door way. Camp laundry left in washer. Access road very narrow not possible for oncoming traffic

We like the openness, the many trees and remote feeling of the park. The dog park’s grass needed to be mowed. We will be back on our way south in October.

WOW !! This is the quietest Park EVER! It's a bit off of the beaten track but well worth the short 5 mile drive from the freeway. NO TRAINS, PLANES nor FREEWAY TRUCKS. Nice & quiet and close to all the best museums in Springfield, IL of the best President this country has ever had (and possibly ever will have) - President Lincoln - , + Rte 66 memorabilia and good eateries.

We’ve been coming here for years and always loved it, as it’s near several Springfield attractions. We met the new owner on our recent stay and were impressed with his commitment to making improvements which will make the KOA Journey campground even more of a great family destination. We look forward to coming here again!

A bit off the beaten path for one night but our stay was fine. Older and could use some sprucing up to maintain KOA standards. The grass between sites was very long.

This KOA was newly transferred to new owners, with many plans for improvements. The Park is calm and quiet, but was very muddy after a rainy day. The K-9 park was unwelcoming; more trash bins are needed thru-out the Park. The entrance to Park is from a narrow, one lane road that has a possibility of being seasonally under water. The Park has great Potential; I would return to see the new efforts

It was a messy wet muddy campsite. I know it rained alot, however I would have thought it would have been better. Did NIOT use any of the facilities.

The campground is 3 miles from the highway and you drive through residential neighborhood s to get there. If you’re traveling through it’s not convenient. The sites need gravel added and water drainage work done. It’s a muddy mess when it rains

at check in we got a number and a map to a muddy site with standing water. returning to office we asked for the site next to our assigned site--it was drier. we were told it was booked and we could look at 3 other spots. those were wet too. management came out and found another site which we took. all sites need more gravel, tables need paint, and we expect some rebate!

Quiet, peaceful spot. However, the water was undrinkable. When you fill a glass it was cloudy and you could not see through it. Also, the cable tv would work at times, other times so much interference that we switched back to antennae.

I can't believe this campground is in the KOA system. A flooded road in and 3 inches of water standing at each camp site. Hint trenching and tiling water away from the campground would earn you a better rating. Not to mention the inflated LP gas prices. Never again

Recommend an alternative camp ground if it is or has rained recently. Very muddy both times we stayed there. Rock parking spaces do not appear to be elevated above the water line. Cable TV was did not work enough to use. At least the RV did not sink into the very damp parking space.

Stayed overnight each way, on trip between Texas and Michigan. Nice resort with trees and good parking spaces with privacy, away from the highway. Clean restrooms and helpful owners.

Enjoyed the fact that the campground was not right off a highway. The sights were well spaced and in good shape. The weather did not cooperate with us on our visit, but still had a nice visit. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Friendly & Professional, Bathroom we’re Clean and we’ll maintain. Had Medicine sent to campgrounds and it was great to have someone to receive it while I was out sightseeing. Campgrounds was located south of Springfield made for easy drive to Downtown.

Clean and quiet. Well set up. Playgrounds and putt putt etc for the kids. Walmart 15 minutes away. Convenience store on property.

Charming campground, Quiet day and night, for a Journey it is away from the interstate / highway noise. We stayed in our fifth wheel however there are several nice cabins and a Family sized Lodge to stay in as well as secluded tent sites in various locations. Bathrooms and Showers were always clean and stocked. The store has a wide variety of items for your camping needs. New improvements are being made all around the campground and several were in process while we were there however the staff ensured the work did not interfere with any guests or activities. There are several new Electric and Water Paved back in sites while the original sites are in a shaded section and it appears all the trees were trimmed properly to prevent from low hanging branches. We met the owners and they are super nice and treat you well as do the rest of the staff we met. One of the workers (Herman) cruised the park and was always friendly. We would stay there again.
