We have never been welcomed in such a friendly manner at any campgrounds as we were at Raystown. Very friendly people.

The haunted house was soooo scary and they put SO much work/effort into it. All of the Halloween activities were so much fun. Can’t wait to come back next season!!

Nice place to stay. Our site was small but the weekend was full so they did as wellas they could given the circumstances. One item that needs attention is the site level. I had to add 3 inches of blocks on one side of the trailer to get to level. That should be done by the grader and the site should be level to within 1 inch where the trailer sits.

Our stay was pleasant, the staff was kind, the scenery was beautiful and it was quiet, just what we wanted for the weekend however, in our cabin the dishwasher did not work, one of the 2 stovetop burners did not work and the Keurig was broken as well. Some staff attempted to fix the stove as we were in the middle of cooking and we were told the rest of the issues would be looked into

Arrived late, couldn’t find our check in paperwork in the box but it was taped on the front door. We booked a back in site for leveling and privacy but was assigned a pull through however camp looked pretty empty so that was ok. Very rural area. Lots of winding back roads. Camp is small. Cute. Quiet. The ride is very scenic however may be more difficult in a larger rig. We have a 33FT C.

Very clean, great staff with many good sites

Excellent site with wonderful hosts! We will be back, and often! Thank you!

Sites are very close together. Patio sites are very rudimentary. Inadequate gravel coverage in sites and on roadway results in a very muddy experience when it rains. This KOA “holiday” location reminded us more of our experience in a KOA “journey” location, which is less expensive. However, the family owners/ management are very friendly and nice people.

We really enjoyed the campground. We had a long week before arriving and didn’t participate in alot of the activities (and there was plenty to do!)….but we enjoyed our time there! I love the Timber Times handout! The owners, staff and campers are all very friendly!

Just a little out of the way for us

it rained a LOT and it was still a nice place

This was a little tight for our 42 ft 5th wheel. The office and the guys outside were super. Growing campground under the adult trees was nice, even managed to get a satellite signal in. Lots of curves and hills to get there, but that's to be expected in the area.

Owners and staff were very helpful. The activities we did were fun. The haunted barn was cherry on the top. It was cute and fun to do. My daughter love it. It was beautiful, colorful fall foliage. Why not make trails around the campground in the woods? It would be fun. We definitely will be back again!!!

We got there late , at dark and Mike help me back in. Witch I couldn’t see anything. Then on Sunday they had a pan cake breakfast for everyone. Thanks that was good. Plus when everyone was leaving that day , didn’t have to get the stuff back out.

KOA Saxton is pretty much an RV camp. But ok to tent camp. All sites are crushed stone and clean. Bathrooms are very clean. Nice hot (free showers) Camp staff very friendly. Very dog friendly. Acorns are extremely loud falling on the pavilion roof.

Friendly staff

We've stayed at Raystown/Saxton KOA a few times in recent years, and it's been a joy each time. We love the rustic woodsy layout of the campground, and the full hookup quality is first class. A very fast WiFi allows streaming video; a rarity at most campgrounds! We grew up in the area and still have family not far away from Raystown Lake, so I am sure we will visit this KOA again soon.

It was nice and peacefuleven with kids running around. The kids were well behaved and respectful. People there, employees and people who were camping are friendly. The two sisters that ran the store were friendly and easy to talk to. They were funny as well. Definitely would go back again.

The people working at this KOA were very friendly and helpful. The sites were clean and well maintained. There are things there for any children and the pool looked well kept. The bath and showers were clean and well maintained. In an area as hilly as the Raystown Lake area they have/are making the area acceptable for RV's.

Cindy was very personable and very helpful with any questions we had. Although we did not take advantage of the pool or showers - they were very clean and well maintained .

Decent pricing for full hookup, quiet campground, and plenty of pets welcome. We appreciate that we can take our 3 pitties camping, as some other private campgrounds have breed restrictions which is not fair to us since our dogs are very well behaved. We purchased a KOA membership just for this reason. Our dogs had so much fun at the doggie park there. Great employees as well.

Beautiful campground. Everyone in the office was so nice and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We'll definitely be back !!

Sites were not level for motorhome

Absolutely without a doubt I'm going to return. Hosts were outstanding. The grounds were maintained and everyone made you feel welcomed. We've stayed at so many KOA's. Raystown is definitely one of the top campgrounds. We have a large fithweel 43'. So if you have a large unit. Your covered.

Second time there. Did not disappoint. Great stay. Great wifi. Spacious patio site
Sep 11, 2023
This was our first time here and we booked our next stay before we even left! The campground is quiet, and beautiful, and the spaces are large and you don’t feel like you’re on top of your neighbor. The people who own the campground were so nice and welcoming and the pool was so clean and nice!

It was raining a lot and we had a tent site. They were kind and helpful as I am disabled. They told us about upcoming events. The playground, pool and game room is really nice.
Sep 10, 2023
The owners and family are very friendly and helpful. The playground is very nice. The pool is very clean and refreshing. We had a patio site with a big fire pit, it was nice.

Not good for tenting. Had to lay on big gravel with air mattress. Area tenting offered no shade. Not handicap accessible.

This was our first time staying at this KOA. We stayed in a cabin. We've stayed in cabins in other KOAs, and this one ranked about middle out of all of them. Pros: It was really really quiet, some nights it felt like we were the only ones around, and that was great. All amenities were very close to our site, so we didn't have to walk far for anything. The atmosphere was great, the trees surrounding the area were nice, it was shaded and cool sitting outside. The cabin was clean and cozy. We had 4 adults, 2 kids, and a dog and it was big enough for all of us. We liked the little dog area we could let our dog off leash for a bit. The play area for the kids was amazing, they had a baby swing for our 20 month old and a ton of fun things for our 6 year old. While we were there they had a little tie dye event that we enjoyed. All of the employees were nice and enjoyed talking about the camp. Cons: The game room was very disappointing. There was 1 pinball machine and 3 claw machines. Not sure if there was a separate arcade room or not, but we didn't see an air hockey table or anything else like advertised. Not a super big deal, but the jump pad and game room were only open on Friday and Saturday while we were there, the paper we got when arriving just said hours were 10-8. There were a few little things that could have made our stay better, one of 2 burners in the cabin didn't work. It would have been nice to have towels for the shower, all of the other KOAs we've stayed at had them. Luckily we brought some, but it's just one of those things that would have been nice to not have to pack. There also were no extra pillows for the pull out couch, again we luckily brought our own. All in all it was a great time. Our kids loved it, and are already asking to go back. We would definitely go back.

We really wanted to stay at Raystown Lake somewhere more private, but those owners told us we cant because of a breed restriction. KOA allowed our kids (dogs) to come which we really love because they are really well behaved and deserve all the other fun stuff other breeds have on vacation. Our pitties loved the dog run, and all the other dogs there. Its always quiet at a KOA, and we purchased a KOA membership just for the dog reason/convenience. Well, that and its a decent rate for full hook up. Quiet & never a bad attitude by staff. We obviously will be returning to several KOAs!
