Use the Saugerties KOA as you home base to explore the many area attractions of the Catskills. Tour the area then return to the campground for a quiet campfire and a restful nights sleep.
Numerous hiking trails all around Catskill Park . The trails all vary in difficulty and attractions. There are hikes to waterfalls, fire towers, hotel ruins and mountain top lakes. Most popular hikes near the campground are: Katterskill Falls, Overlook Mountain and Huckleberry Point.
The village of Saugerties now boasts some of the best (and still reasonably priced) antiquing in the Hudson Valley. Among the antique shops there are unique shops featuring food, baked goods, ice cream and homemade chocolate.
The many lakes and streams of the Catskill Park boast swimming holes both public and private. Some of these swimming holes are even bathing suits optional.

Hunter Mountain Ski area will host two very popular summer concerts. The first weekend of June is the weekend for Mountain Jam concert. The second weekend of June is for the Taste of Country Concerts. The concert site is about a short 15 minute drive from the Saugerties KOA.
The last weekend in May the Town of East Durham will host its annual Irish Festival. Lots of food, drink and music makes the weekend.

A 88 acre preserve located at the foot of Overlook Mountain. The preserve is a treasure trove of mixed hardwood and coniferous forests, vernal pools, a seasonal stream, bluestone quarries, and has the first interpretive "geology trail" in the area.
