We enjoyed our stay at Santa Margarita. Off the grid and super quite. Star-gazing at it's best. Good pads, plenty of space and easy to get to. Lots of activities for kids and adults. Kevin the Emu did not disappoint. This KOA can accommodate a variety of guests and rigs.

It was my first time staying at a KOA and it did not disappoint. The staff was so helpful and friendly from the moment we got there. We already booked another stay for Labor Day weekend.

i loved all the activities and amentities you had such as kevin the emu, the pool, the jump pillow, the slides, hayride, movies. Only thing that i think could be improved is the camping spot we were in had fine powdery dust/dirt which got on everything, yes i know its camping but i think that you could maybe put some other kind of surface there like gravel or regular dirt and it would make it nice

We enjoyed our stay very much! The remote tent site was beautiful and quiet. It is a hike to the bathroom over hills. Our son loved the jumping pillow. It was an easy drive to Morro Bay.

Helpful staff. Clean site, restrooms and shower. Great to have a little ‘market’ for wood, ice, drinks, snacks and camp stuff. They allowed campfires where most of the local campgrounds don’t. Nice hikes and views from upper part of the campground. Most sites have there own water and power and natural shade. (Important in hot local summers.) Ground is hard packed dusty clay. Everything was good, except it would be better if there were more restrooms throughout the camp. Felt like I had to walkup the hill and down a hill and up stairs to use the restroom.

Great spaces; large and well kept. It's a hidden gem! We loved watching the deer nearby and other local wild life.

The grounds were well taken care of and it was very peaceful during quiet hours. The management staff are wonderful and helped us out of a jam with one of our trailer tires.

Everyone was so nice and super welcoming! Loved staying here we had a total of 12 kids and they loved exploring and using pool and the pillow! Will definitely be coming back!

4th or 5th time staying at the Santa Margarita Campground. We always loved the staff who are always friendly and attentive. The Campground is a bit hilly and secluded which we like. Its beautiful at night and nice in the early morning. Lots of Shades and trees. Bathrooms are clean, well supplied but can use some remodeling. The place is safe, lots of activities for the kids. Will return again.

Really enjoyed campground w/ lots of up and downhill climb- I have a jeep and loved it! I liked the amenities of KOA (ie. general store, pool, and all the options w/ rv, and camping). Some areas of improvements: Pool was not open, unscheduled blackouts. I loved the site. We will come back! Tony Gonzalez

It is a beautiful campground. Most KOA campgrounds are close to the highway. Not this one. It is beautiful and quiet. There is a lot for the kids to do. My only complaint…the garbage cans close to our site were full the whole time. Nobody emptied them.

We love this KOA. Feels like a rustic little gem hidden away. The location is great to go explore the central coast but still feel like you are camping in the wild. It had everything we needed and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. It was the first time we camped with our new trailer and the spaces were great! Lots of activities for the littles onsite. We will be back!

Camp staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the pool was closed unexpectedly due to an issue with the well and the electricity went out midmorning on Sunday. There was no way to beat the heat. Also, had a long term person next to us who played loud music all day and evening.

The people at the facility were FANTASTIC! The facility was VERY clean and well maintained. Just not the type of location that we would like to stay at again. LOTS of cool things to do for the whole family!

Pool broken all weekend, 100 degree weather, basketball court is just a kids pole in a dirt lot, volleyball court is smaller dirt lot, pipes rusty, very unkempt. Manager "Wolf" is uptight and condescending.

I had a great stay at this KOA, the Deluxe cabin was clean and in a great location away from other cabins. The whole campground was as well clean and thought out nicely. I had absolutely no issues. It’s very close to the lake and the beach so you really get the best of both worlds. I’ll be staying here in the future for sure!

We loved our stay at KOA! Clean facilities hot showers, electricity and wifi. Our kids had so much fun at the pool and the pillow we were sad to leave. We will be back soon!

We had never stayed at a KOA or in a cabin anywhere before, so it was a FANTASTIC 1st experience. We will be visiting other KOA's for sure after our amazing weekend in Santa Margarita. SOOOO peaceful & quiet & we think we had the best spot in the whole campground. We will definitely be back!!!

bathrooms could have been cleaner and more updated. it was very dusty at this campground, more so than others. the wind alone picked up dusty and blew it around. we also had a not so friendly encounter with a staff person. we were told a security person would meet us at our late arrival to help us find out site, but there was no one on duty when we arrived. pool bathrooms were gross.

This is an excellent place if you need a fully equipped cabin down to a tent campsite. Being built into a hillside allows more privacy between sites than you would expect from a typical KOA experience. The hosts are very helpful and very accommodating. Can't say enough about what makes this a step above the typical KOA location as it has been for decades.
