Located on the west side of the campground you will find the Howard W. Peak Greenway Trail System. This multi-use trail offers stunning views of Salado Creek, surrounded by towering bottomland hardwood trees and natural, flowing springs that run from the adjacent hillside to the creek. At the north end of this segment of the Salado Creek Greenway, there are trailheads located at Covington and Comanche County Parks, located off Rigsby Road. At the southern end, there is a trailhead located just east of the lake in South Side Lions Park, off Pecan Valley. The trail is easy, with running slopes over 5 percent in two locations. The total length is 2.3 miles. This is measured from Covington County Park (at Rigsby bridge) through Comanche County Park to South Side Lion's trailhead.
No need to walk around the campground when you can get your exercise and see the beautiful surroundings on San Antonio's original River.
New for the 2014 season is our beautiful remodeled swimming pool. We are so excited about this new addition to our park that features a beach style entry for younger children, small fountains, several different entry points and furniture to lounge around and get a tan. Did we mention it's heated too? Never too cold for a swim!
Families love the San Antonio KOA and that's why we take great pride in offering some of the best places for kids to play in the entire area. That all starts with our awesome playground that has quite a few different components. Play basketball with your friends, climb a teepee, swing through the air or practice your climbing skills on several different features. You can also enjoy our tire swing or make up your own game with friends!
We think your pet is one of the most important members of your family. That's why we have taken the time and effort to build a spectacular K9 Corral for your four-legged friends. Let them run free inside this large enclosure that includes numerous items for them to play with. Relax on benches inside the corral and enjoy this special time with your dog.
You could drive our campground, or walk, or use binoculars from your campsite. We think the best way to make sure you see everything though is to rent one of our pedal carts! Popular with almost every kid who stays with us (and pretty cool for adventurous adults too), you can ride around the entire park in style.
