Located in Kennebunkport, it's "History in Motion" and a wonderful way to spend an hour or two. See more than 25 restored streetcars, ride 3 ½ miles on one through some beautiful Maine country. View trolleys being restored, grounds available for picnicking.
Super Duck Tours offer an exciting 1 ¼ hour historical tour of Portland with a twist. This strange new vehicle is cleverly disguised as a Duck and travels on both land and sea! Experience the charm of Portland with its cobblestone streets, unique shops, historical buildings and its working waterfront, the Old Port. Then you'll be traveling on water, in Casco Bay, home to islands, forts and famous lighthouses. The tours operate from April through October.
Walk the working waterfront in Portland and shop the many diverse and interesting shops at the Old Port. You'll also find many fine restaurants along the way.
Another great aspect of the Saco/Old Orchard Beach KOA is our area's location. We are just off Route One, where you will find all the conveniences you'll need. Good restaurants, things to do and easy access to almost everything are all nearby. Funtown/Splashtown (1/4 mile), Aquaboggan Water Park (1.5 miles), the beaches at Old Orchard Beach (3-4 miles), and Scarborough Marsh (4 Miles) are some examples. Also, lighthouses abound in this area and we can give you directions to several nearby.
You will also find that we are easily accessible to and from the Maine Turnpike and that we are centrally located. We are only a 15-20 minute drive to Portland and less than a half an hour to Kennebunkport. Freeport (and LL Bean!) is just a half-hour drive away. Points south of Kennebunkport (Ogunquit, York and Kittery) are no more than 45 minutes to an hour away.
