Great folks. Would stay again.

Had a great time. Staff is very friendly. Bathrooms are amazing. Joined the KOA and looking forward to staying again.

Unfortunately, it rained during our overnight stop. We did not have a chance to explore the campground. However, it looked really nice and very well taken care of. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Only there one day. Rained the whole time. Site was dry, the staff were great. Took a walk what I saw looked good.
Mar 07, 2020
Very wet sites with a lot of standing water. I know the weather is the reason but building them up higher and additional drainage system would help.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Storms that closed schools in three nearby counties is uncontrollable. We closed five sites and gave 100% money back who chose to leave. Open 365 days a year for 37 years we continually add gravel, drainage and upgrades. It is called the Lowcountry for a reason ~ 11ft above sea level with an 8 foot tide has its beauty and its challenges. Happy travels. Jennifer ~

Stayed here several times and always enjoy it. Love the walking trails and the pizza and wings are great!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We enjoyed hosting your five-night stay. Thank you for understanding about the great amount of rain we experienced while you were here. Jennifer~

Nice campground, very friendly staff, but is like a lake when it rains.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

On a normal year, it is not. There were three nearby counties which closed schools due to the torrents of rain last week. We closed 5 sites to help ease the strain. Jennifer.

Very friendly and nice staff. Park is very nice.

Due to heavy rain, our last stay was not good. All sites were underwater. Some work needs to be down to make the convenience of this place worth the price that is charged. Paying over 60.00 for a site without full hook ups is a bit much. Great people work here and that is nice.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are working feverishly to bring more gravel and also create additional drainage at the side of the park. However, there had been so much rain 3 local counties shut down schools due to flooding streets and immense rain that as you know is out of our control. We closed worse sites and would have happily let you go elsewhere so you would have been happy. Sometimes life happens Beyond our control.

This particular KOA is really spacious. Very ample room between campers. All of the sites seem to be very well shaded and well taken care of. The staff is very friendly and most accommodating. We stayed here in March 2019 as well as this March. Located about halfway between Savannah and Charleston, it is very central for vacationing. I highly recommend it.

Friendly staff, the onboard restaurant was a great Ed. Very happy.

Everything was wonderful. Staff was very social and friendly. Wine bar was a plus. The only issue we had was the cost of the site. $64 was a bit much to pay for an overnight site with no sewer hookup. We even got a KOA discount.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are sorry you were not totally satisfied. Our rates include 62 channels of cable and hi-speed WiFi, 50 amp on your site, including tax. Open 13 hours a day, we offer 100% money back if you do not find value. Happy travels. Jennifer~

I stay here frequently and always enjoy every visit from my site, to the staff, to the food/wine tasting and to the cleanliness. But I've never mentioned the lake. The weather was just perfect for a leisurely and long stroll around the lake. It was so quiet and peaceful a day and before buggy season. I could have taken shorter loops but the day was too nice not to surround the longest perimeter.

Exit signs need to be more prominent. All good otherwise!

Just a one-night stay while traveling. Campground was clean and quiet. The campground employees were pleasant and helpful. We will stop there again!

This campground is a stop we always make on our way to and from Florida. It is more expensive than we usually like to pay but it's worth it! A well kept campground with great staff -- everyone is so friendly and helpful. We love the availability of delicious pizza delivered to your campsite and the wine tastings. And our dog loves the dog park. Lots of pull through sites.

Very nice KOA. Friendly staff and the great pizza and coffee/wine/beer bar was an added treat. Only real complaint is the sites are pretty small and very narrow. We stepped out of our trailer right into a really wet and slightly muddy area. The nearby lake was great for walking the dogs around. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

It was just overnight but it was real nice. Had pizza and it was very good
Mar 02, 2020
Great park! The grounds and facilities are as clean as a whistle. We didn’t get a chance to try any wine, but the coffee is fantastic. All of the staff were welcoming and helpful, our dogs enjoyed the dog park, and we really enjoyed our stay. My only nit to pick is the road noise from I-95, but there’s nothing anyone can do about that. We’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful stay love this campground
Mar 02, 2020
As usual the grounds were muddy. eliminating depressions where puddles are created and adding gravel would be an improvement. Wine tasting? Really?

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I am sorry we weren't a match for you. Though we reseed our yards with grass often, being open 365 days a year, there are times where there is mud. We do our best to combat this, but Mother Nature can't always be wrangled. Thank you! Jennifer~

This was our 3rd stay at this KOA. We always enjoy the friendly staff, and the campground is so well maintained. We stayed 3 nights and used the campground as our 'base'. Savannah one day and Hilton Head the next. The Swimming Mermaid wine bar is a must! An evening at Harold's County Club (less than 5 miles away) is always a good time too, but be vey careful of deer on the way home!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for being a promoter of Point South KOA and understanding about the immense rainfall. As you saw, it drains quickly, and we do all we can to wick it away. We look forward to hosting your stay again when you are back in the low country of SC. Jennifer~

Excellent food and drink at the office, outstanding staff. Campground a bit tight to navigate with big rig.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are sorry you had a bit of an issue with your 40' motor home. Site 16 is filled 90% of the time with that size of rig and tows with no mention of difficulty. We are open 13 hours a day if you need assistance. Thank you for the kind mention of your enjoyment of Point South KOA. Jennifer~

It was just a one nighter on our way down to Fl to another KOA. We have stayed at that SC KOA a number of times. It is very nice and friendly people that run the place!
Feb 28, 2020
As always, a welcoming place to stay!
Feb 28, 2020
Friendly, helpful staff. Nice level, dry site even though they said it had rained for 5 days.
Feb 27, 2020

Very nice and quiet.

I want to start this review by saying: this is a super cute KOA. The staff are very friendly and informative. We’ve only tent camped here so far. Plenty of space for tents and the trees are the perfect distance for our hammocks. It’s at a convenient location right off the highway but far enough that the highway noises aren’t a nuisance. We’ve camped here multiple times and it’s never bothered us. We love that it’s roughly the same distance from many beaches. There are several options for food nearby as well. They also sell pizza at the KOA. We get it at least once every trip.
