The annual Mushroom Festival celebrates Kennett Square, known as the Mushroom Capital of the World. Fountain shows continue daily through October 28, with illuminated fountain performances every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening through October. Chrysanthemum Festival (October 25-November 18) spotlights Longwood's horticulture expertise as chrysanthemums are crafted and grown into extraordinary shapes, some taking as long as 18 months to complete. The highlight of the display is the Thousand Bloom Chrysanthemum, a single chrysanthemum that boasts more than 1,400 uniforms blooms on a single plant.
