As a Tent camper, I felt that this koa was not set up for us. The tent sites were at the very edge of the campground with no logical way to get to the bathroom without walking way around the rvs. The sites were grass, but right next to the highway and did not appear to have been recently mowed. The staff were nice enough, but I doubt I'd stay here again. We did enjoy the horseshoes.

Everything about my stay was awesome. The entire staff could not have been any nicer. Everything was clean and well maintained. I hope to be back next year.

The staff was very friendly especially Sherrill the receptionist who got my reservation straightened out for me and Moises the Maintenance Personnel for going above and beyond to help with our tent. He was amazing. I would stay there again and recommend the place. Thank You

This was our families first time camping!! We couldn't have wished for a better experience!! You don't get this kind of service at a 5 star hotel! Moises was the cherry on top... always making sure we had everything we needed!! Thank you!!

Jeff has an excellent group of employees! The campground, bathrooms and pool were always clean. Moses did a great at parking us in the boondocks campground. Ron an Clarence did a great job of shuttling to and from the Iowa Speedway.

Absolutely wonderful stay! We were in the Boondocks area and loved it. The staff was welcoming, helpful, friendly and answered every question. I got excellent directions where I needed to go for a walk. The shuttle was the best - Clarence and Ron were funny, kind, and we couldn't ask for better. ALL staff were outstanding - thank you! We will be back.

The new owners are top notch!! They are more than helpful with any questions you have and to make your stay the best as possible!! (And it was!) We only had 2 minor things that happened, when we paid cash we didn't get a receipt and there was a LOUD group next to us (just having fun) but everything turned out GREAT!!! We have and will always LOVE TO CAMP THERE for the races!! Thank you to all

The service at this KOA was fantastic! I don't give 5 start reviews often because I believe there is always room for improvement, however this place deserves a 5 star review! EVERY single staff person we came in contact with were beyond helpful and pleasant. The facilities were nice and very clean. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone!

The staff were super friendly! Always willing to give a golf cart ride to the shower house or to the office. They did a great job of shuttling us to the race track and back as efficiently as possible. I can't wait to come back next year!

We got there and thought at least we had electric. We literally had a spot on farmland which was $58 a night. Nobody asked us if we needed fresh water when we got in late so we had no water for a day. Took us two hours out of our day the next day to unhook everything and hook back up. Thank god we brought our generator that kept us up all night long. The shuttle was great

Second time staying here and would definitely again. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the grounds are very well kept, plenty of amenities, and everything is very clean. This is a great place to stay when looking for a camp spot.

The reservation system let us go half way through but then showed no availability. We were confused why, apparently it was officially closed. My wife called and the lady said they could get us in for one night. It was not a pleasant stay. It had snowed about 6 inches recently, the campground was not plowed properly. Office was closed. Bathrooms were up the hill which not plowed well.

People were very friendly and helpful. Facility was in good shape, very well taken care of. I would definately reccommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to stay.

Curtis and Dana be very proud of your staff Jeff called Tanya after storm helped us out of our tent when canopy collapsed on door Moses and Clarence help dispose of canopy Sam Rachel and Christian all amazing campsite very well kept as usual and once again staff amazing made our stay very pleasant and we look forward to coming back again next year if not sooner

Everyone was super helpful, and the grounds were always clean. When a rain storm came through they checked to make sure everyone in tents was safe. They noticed we left and checked in us in the morning. Had a free breakfast Saturday morning for everyone. And we will be back because of the friendlyness of the staff and cleanliness.

Excellent location. Staff was excellent (Jeff and Christian). Facilities were top notch with a great pool, jump pad, Gaga and so many other activities that the kids loved. Highly recommend.

Beautiful sight! We called ahead and let them know we would be late but wanted campfire and they delivered it right to our sight for us to use when we got there. They also had free pancakes, sausage and coffee! I’m not sure if they do this every day but they did while we were there and it was a life saver. Clean campsite, bathrooms and warm showers. We will be staying here again!

Little loud but quiet enjoy able, love this place. The person who runs this place knows what she's doing. Always clean, don't understand why lower bathroom is locked up. Still would never leave a bad review. Would love to die in this location if I was going to go 😂. I love KOA. Have found some wonderful artifacts. This is a whole other experience only artifact hunters would understand. Bathrooms are always clean and smells fresh. Everyone works hard to keep it clean. Ripped off 3:00 dollars machine , still better than driving ten miles.

Can't give an accurate review as we only stayed overnight. The sites were long. So we didn't have to unhook. Phone staff were friendly.

After arriving I researched the different types of KOAs. I learned there are two types, Journey and Holiday. The Newton/Des Moines East KOA is a Journey. The Journey KOAs are near highways and often have less amenities. For this KOA the highway part is true but they have several amenities for campers such as a pool, jump pad, playground, dog park, and horseshoe pit. The staff are very friendly and during our stay there was a great amount of maintenance, painting tables and site poles, being done. Regardless of the highway noise, this was a nice campground.
