It was clean and obviously well maintained. Wi-Fi was the best I have ever had at a campground. It is a bare bones kind of place but everything worked great. Staff was friendly.

The campground was ok, nice clean bathrooms. The interstate traffic was loud and there was no cable as there website said there was. The staff was friendly.

Clean campground and bathrooms with wonderful amenities and great staff. Campsites are very close - definitely set up for smaller campers in the original campground. Wi-Fi is very weak.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Jose who escorted us to our site. What a cheerful young man! We used the laundry during our stay and found it clean and well maintained.

I was greeted very friendly by the staff. We were only there for a quick night so hard to judge entire campground. The only downside was the loud traffic mostly trucks on the Highway behind the campground. It was a convenient location but I will try to get away from the noise in the future.

After incorrectly booking at the Des Moines West KOA, the Des Moines East KOA was able to accommodate us and the site was perfect. Unfortunately, we were staying to visit family in the area so we were away a lot. It was great having our site right up front. the time we were at the KOA, our daughter loved the playground and pancake breakfast. The staff was amazing and very friendly.

Very good. The only issue was the water spigot, it wouldn't turn all the way off. The pancake breakfast was awesome!

Campsites so close we had to go in backwards to open up our slide. Water hookup next to stairs on neighbors site. People were nice to us but site was too small

We stayed 2 nights to be able to visit all Des Moines has to offer. The location is convenient offf I 80. Staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and laundry very clean and it is quiet. Beautiful facility for events that overlook a cornfield.

Sights were down in a valley below the expressway. Very noisy and close together. Advertised having cable But it did not. Staff was friendly.

The staff is friendly and helpful! The highway noise is loud and the pullthrough sites are too tight with no shade or space for hanging out. The playground was great for our grandkids - they loved the jump pad. The pool and showers were very clean! The "train" did not run while we were there.

Campgrounds are too close to the interstate. You get to here the trucks and I-80 traffic all night long. Occasionally the ground rumbles & shakes as a truck passes. Most of the campground is in a hollow and it fills up with smoke from campfires. You could see the smoke just lingering. My eyes where burning & I was coughing like crazy. I left a message with the office, but no one ever returned it.

This was my first KOA experience. I found the staff to be great, very friendly and helpful. The grounds and facilities were very well maintained. As a one night transient campground I would have no issues recommending, and I bet it is great during the races. Traffic noise required earplugs. An overall pleasant experience.

The sites are kind of tight but we had an end site with a concrete patio that was very nice. Would use again. We only stayed overnight.

Little loud but quiet enjoy able, love this place. The person who runs this place knows what she's doing. Always clean, don't understand why lower bathroom is locked up. Still would never leave a bad review. Would love to die in this location if I was going to go 😂. I love KOA. Have found some wonderful artifacts. This is a whole other experience only artifact hunters would understand. Bathrooms are always clean and smells fresh. Everyone works hard to keep it clean. Ripped off 3:00 dollars machine , still better than driving ten miles.

Can't give an accurate review as we only stayed overnight. The sites were long. So we didn't have to unhook. Phone staff were friendly.

After arriving I researched the different types of KOAs. I learned there are two types, Journey and Holiday. The Newton/Des Moines East KOA is a Journey. The Journey KOAs are near highways and often have less amenities. For this KOA the highway part is true but they have several amenities for campers such as a pool, jump pad, playground, dog park, and horseshoe pit. The staff are very friendly and during our stay there was a great amount of maintenance, painting tables and site poles, being done. Regardless of the highway noise, this was a nice campground.
