Campground was fine but road noise was extremely high. We were in site 30 next to I-80. Noise is primary reason for lower marks.

Great staff. They were very busy but took time to take you to your site. Right by Interstate 80 so a bit noisy. Facilities worked as they should. Highly recommend for a "on your way" stop.

If you love the roar of the interstate traffic this place is for you! A nice convenient stop just off the highway. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

The traffic noise at this campground is completely unbearable. I don’t know how anyone can sleep if they’re staying at this campground.

A one night stop off the highway to travel back to the east coast. Late reservation, arrival and early exit. Staff was very accommodating in finding a site that was easy and fast to rest and move on. Thank you

Our truck had a bad engine issue so stayed there two days while it was fixed. Great staff, clean facilities, and quiet countryside at night. Didn’t plan on staying there but glad we did.

Just pne night but it was very nice to have areas to walk and enjoy our evening. The disc course was enjoyable and the nature walk was a good thing way to stretch our legs after a long drive. Friendly staff, clean facilities.

Ask to be close to the showers and restrooms not put close to the showers and restrooms was put in a campsite on top of every other camper close to the highway very noisy when there were other lovely campsites available was not happy with the assignment of the campsite or the noise level

Very friendly staff. We were only there one night so the fact that its right off I 80 is a plus but its noisy. There are sites at the top of the hill that are further from the road and longer term campers stay there. As a plus, there was free music and snacks at a venue at the top of the hill.

We always enjoy our time at the Newton KOA! The staff are welcoming and sincerely want to make sure you have a great experience. The kids love the playground, pool and especially the train ride. We will definitely be back!

This was, by far, THE BEST KOA we have ever stayed at!! The entire KOA was like a beautiful park, mature trees, and spacious. Activities for all ages and interests…. Including a disc golf! Everything was well maintained, and each spot was easy access for any type of rig. We have a large class A, and no problem for size including our tow vehicle. Easy access to freeway and fueling option

Nice campground but the noise from the highway and airport make it unpleasant. The cicadas are very loud too which is out of your control. Besides the noise, very clean and friendly place.

The hospitality and friendliness at the Newton KOA is 2nd to none! Every staff member I interacted with was very helpful and engaging. We were not at a loss of things to do; swimming, jumping pad, disc golf and more! The campground was exceptionally clean and the showers A+ We also loved that this KOA was super simple to get to, right off I-80 and a Walmart 2 minutes down the road was a bonus!

It’s a beautiful campground but the sites are very narrow. We could barely walk between our RV and a neighbor RV with the slides out. It would be so much better with 2 feet of extra space. We would stay again but I would request a end site.

Little loud but quiet enjoy able, love this place. The person who runs this place knows what she's doing. Always clean, don't understand why lower bathroom is locked up. Still would never leave a bad review. Would love to die in this location if I was going to go 😂. I love KOA. Have found some wonderful artifacts. This is a whole other experience only artifact hunters would understand. Bathrooms are always clean and smells fresh. Everyone works hard to keep it clean. Ripped off 3:00 dollars machine , still better than driving ten miles.

Can't give an accurate review as we only stayed overnight. The sites were long. So we didn't have to unhook. Phone staff were friendly.

After arriving I researched the different types of KOAs. I learned there are two types, Journey and Holiday. The Newton/Des Moines East KOA is a Journey. The Journey KOAs are near highways and often have less amenities. For this KOA the highway part is true but they have several amenities for campers such as a pool, jump pad, playground, dog park, and horseshoe pit. The staff are very friendly and during our stay there was a great amount of maintenance, painting tables and site poles, being done. Regardless of the highway noise, this was a nice campground.
