The site are very hard to back into.lots of trees and bumpy roads.

You were in a pull-thu site at our campground, not a back-in. Perhaps you reviewed a different campground by mistake. Or perhaps you backed-in to your pull-thru site, which probably would be tricky?

Great place to relax and recharge. The staff here is very attentive to the pool and the grounds. We had a great site, level and some grass for our dog to lay on. Very nice and clean bathrooms and laundry room. Really nice micro brewery hidden just up the street with some fantastic views of the mountains.

This is a nice park. My only issue was how hilly it was and our site #46(?) was not very level and we had a hard time leveling our motorhome but we eventually did. It was nice to have a cart to follow to our site and all the staff was nice. The utilities were fine and the park was very quiet the night we were there.

We called ahead to see if there was any help available, and we were told yes they could help us set up if needed. When we arrived, there was no help available yet. There were two women sitting around in the office, doing nothing, and people driving golf carts past our site several times, which did not offer to help. The showers and bathrooms were dirty I need a cleaning. Not up to KOA standards.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

At check-in you were told to let someone know if you needed assistance. The employees in golf carts will assist you if you let them know you need help. The girls in the office are there to check you in, answer the phones, ring in store sales, etc. All our reviews mention how clean the bathrooms are.

For us, the atmosphere is exactly what we like. (Basically typical of KOA's.) Campground is "woodsy" enough, and facilities are clean and well-kept. Campground store is not huge, but has exactly what was needed to restock our groceries. The location is perfect for a midway stopover for trips between the south and northeast.

Everything was great (sites were well maintained, area was quiet, pool was never too crowded, etc.) except the first few days there were an ABNORMALLY large amount of flies. It was really too many.

We stayed here 3 or 4 years ago and are impressed to see the updates! Even the chickens have upgraded facilities. Will definitely stay here again when in area!

Location of KOA is very good. Site 4 - sewer is low - can’t screw in elbow. But have to camp over it. Very on top of next door site. Trails in woods were gone to make way for expansion. They were nice to walk.

Accidentally chose a 30 amp/no sewer hook up for an overnight stay. Lot of trees helped. Pool was great for kids.

Park was clean & well managed. Staff was very friendly. But topography was challenging for our 40' motorhome towing a car with steep narrow roads & sites terraced into the hillside. Still, would certainly recommend for smaller units.

No shade whatsoever. Sick employee in the office coughing all over everyone, should have stayed home! Also, you are not allowed to pitch a tent on an RV site even if there is room. We had to pay an additional $100 (2 nights) for the 2 adult children to sleep in the tent at another site. (Our small trailer can accommodate 3 but not 4.) It would be nice if KOA would let you reserve specific sites.

We had a wonderful stay and the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating when we were not going to be able to make it the first night. Everyone was friendly. The place was very clean. It was our first time at a KOA and we thought it was cool there were activities on the weekend for the kids.

Easy access, very nice staff and guests. The patio site was wonderful and we were grateful for the gas grill when our propane system suddenly decided not to work. We travel I-81 fairly often and have put this one on our ”stay there again” list.

We stayed in a primitive cabin while there to visit the safari park on a quick guys getaway . Cabin was great and very clean. They had a decent game room and the staff was really nice. They must be doing a lot of grounds renovations because they had a lot of the grounds areas torn up. Some buildings as you drive in looked a bit run down. Not the best first impression which is why the 4 stars. Overall a decent campground and affordable.

Just a nice quiet well-run KOA with friendly & helpful staff. Conveniently located off the highway, yet far enough away that you do not hear highway traffic. Yes, the natural terrain is hilly, but all the campsites I saw were pretty level. The hilly terrain enhances water run-off, so the sites dry quickly, and there were no annoying mud pits. Easy check in, great camp store, and a wonderfully picturesque full-service campground close to nearby attractions like Natural Bridge State Park, the Safari, and City of Lexington. We were so fortunate to be at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA when we developed a power issue in our 5th wheel camper. This KOA has personnel who are knowledgeable in RV equipment and were able to replace a defective voltage regulator. That's a service that could take days to even schedule, but with the personnel at this KOA we were able to repair in 24 hours. Chris really helped us out, did an unbelievable job, and we could not be more grateful.
