Events Not to Miss Near Manchester this Fall
Summer is over but that doesn’t mean the events around Manchester are slowing down. Cooler weather is afoot, and there are lots of things to do around the area as we gear up for the holiday season. On October 29th, take part in an epic night underground inside the Caverns with Kayzo, along with Calcium and Reaper. Located in Grundy County, Tennessee, near the base of the Cumberland Plateau, the Caverns is a breath-taking concert venue located deep underground. Concert goers can revel in the prehistoric venue’s natural acoustics and unique natural beauty. Live music inside a real cave is a bucket list item for many, and fans from all over the world come here for “the greatest show under Earth.”
On Sunday, October 31st, go trick or treating with some spooky characters from Ever After Productions on Halloween night at the Montana Drive-in in Tullahoma. Meet and greet with the characters while you’re doing your own trick or treating from 4:30-6pm, followed by viewing some family-oriented Halloween movies.
On October 16th, join us in the historic Tullahoma Fine Arts Center, and see for yourself whether the rumors are true! From 7pm to midnight, the DJ will have the tunes rolling throughout the night when you feel like you need to boo-gy. There will also be a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, and giveaways. This even is adults only, and you may BYOB. IDs will be checked at the door.
Celebrate hand-crafted distilled spirits both historic and innovative in Chattanooga on October 23rd. The focus will of course be on whiskey, and with your tastings, you can listen to some great live music. This is a 21 and over event – IDs will be checked at the door.
Just up the road a few miles in Viola, join Rutherford County Paranormal Investigations on October 30th from 7 – 10pm at the Vila Community Center in Morrison. This fantastic Public Ghost Hunt and Costume Contest is held at a formal school that has had several confirmed deaths and is a bona fide haunted location – the perfect location for an authentic ghost hunt! There will also be a raffle for prizes as well as a cash prize for the costume contest.
For lovers of what some consider to be the best decade ever, don’t miss this great 80’s party on Friday, October 29th from 7 – 10pm, at Hop Springs Beer Park in Murfreesboro. All ages are welcome! Dress up in your best 80’s garb for a costume contest where prizes are free tickets to future concerts. Camping chairs are welcome if you want to hang out outdoors, however, food and beverages are not permitted outside.
If sipping wine and relaxing is more your style for the Halloween season, this event is for you! On Saturday, October 30th from 5 – 7pm, join fellow wine and yoga enthusiasts for an evening of relaxation and fun at Big Creek Winery Tasting room in nearby Christiana. Your expert instructor Demita will guide you through a Vinyasa Flow Yoga class. Don’t worry if you are a yoga novice, this instruction is open to all levels. Glow sticks and body paint will be provided, lending a fun enhancement to the evening. After class, enjoy a wine tasting. Wines by the bottle will be available for purchase.
On Saturday, November 6th from 10:30am – 1:30pm in Murfreesboro Public Square, this is a popular annual family-friendly event that raises money to build affordable houses in Rutherford County. Cookin’ to Build has all you can eat gumbo, chili and soup, along with desserts and entertainment. Sample over 30 food vendors from area organizations. You will get a hand-painted bowl to take home.
