Did you know we have a 685 acre lake in addition to miles of pristine beach? Stretching over three miles, Devils Lake is naturally shallow and is more sheltered from the coastal winds. Devils Lake has earned the title of “World's Fastest Lake” and is home to D River, the “World's Shortest River.”
From the iconic sea stacks with their triumphant trees, to the sandy beach below Mo's Chowder and other Taft District business, the Siletz Bay offers a variety of interesting locations and activities.
With strong summer and winter runs of steelhead, and catches throughout the year, it's not unusual for the Siletz River's anglers to take home about 4,000 hatchery fish in a calendar year. Crab with ease from the shore, or dig clams on the mudflats at low tide. Catch your dinner on the bay!
About 15 miles south of Lincoln City, you'll find the ever popular Depoe Bay with scenic views, whale watching, and the Spouting Horn.

Each June and October, the D River State Recreation Site hosts a two-day kite festival that draws hundreds of visitors to town. Free shuttle service is offered from the Lincoln City Outlets, so you don't even need to look for parking at the beach!

The Lincoln City Sandcastle Contest at Siletz Bay is a wondrous, fun-filled day celebrating one of Lincoln City's best adventures—playing on our beaches.
Take part in the Sandcastle Contest, held at Siletz Bay in the Historic Taft District presented by Mo's Lincoln City. Watch the sand come to life and become marine life, castles and characters.
Registration for the contest begins at 11am off SW 51st Street. Registration is free, but a donation of a non-perishable food item per person is encouraged—all donations benefit the Lincoln City Food Pantry.
Only sand, water, shells and other natural beach materials found on the beach that day can be used for construction. Forms can be used in the construction process but cannot
support the final structure. Hand tools are allowed, but not power tools. This is an amateur competition—professional “sand artists” are disqualified from winning prizes.
