Fire Restrictions for Campers

The current fire restrictions published by the National Forest Service is known as Public Use Restriction (PUR) Level II.  Advanced notification from the NFS staff indicates a likely plan to move to PUR Level III in the next several days.  

What does that mean for campers?


PUR II Restrictions:

Wood Campfires are allowed, but only in Forest Service Approved fire rings (which we have).  ALL firewood must fit completely inside the fire ring (length and height) and MUST be put out COLD whenever you leave your site or turn in for the evening.
Charcoal/Pellet barbecue grills are NOT allowed.  Propane (other other gas) grills are allowed.

Smoking areas restricted

Use of Motorized Vehicles except on Established Roadways & Trails Restricted.


PUR III Restrictions:

NO Campfires

NO Charcoal/Pellet Grills allowed (anything that produces an ash).

Smoking Areas Restricted

Use of Motorized Vehicles except on Established Roadways & Trails Restricted.

Portable propane grills and propane fire pits ARE allowed.
