Lemolo Lake / Crater Lake North KOA Holiday Recreation

The Lemolo Lake/Crater Lake North KOA campground and cabins are located on Lemolo Lake - A 540-acre boating and fishing lake with beautiful views of Mount Thielsen and the surrounding hills. The lake is famous for its German Brown Trout fishing, but also has a large number of Kokenee Salmon and it is stocked multiple times throughout the year with Rainbow Trout.

Below are details for each of the Activities available on and immediately surrounding our KOA:

Hiking and Biking

Hiking and Biking

Bring your mountain bike or strap on your hiking shoes because there is plenty to see both at and around Lemolo Lake/Crater Lake North KOA, starting with a recently completed hiking, biking and horseback trail around the entire lake.   Hike or bike our trails and you may see some of the many different wildlife that call our forest home, including deer, elk, chipmunks, squirrels, loons, river otters, osprey, & bald eagles.  Many can be seen on and around our lake on a daily basis.

Just North of our KOA is the North Umpqua Trail, a 79 mile hiking and mountain biking trail through the Umqua National Forest.  The "Dread & Terror" section of the trail runs along the North side of our lake.  The North Umpqua Trail (locally known as the NUT) is famous both nationally and internationally for both mountain biking and ultra running competitions.  Multiple races use Lemolo Lake/Crater Lake North as either the starting point or finish line for their races.
Additional detail about the trail can be found in the Local Area Attractions section of our website and a link to a website is also provided.

ATV & Side-by-Side Trails

ATV & Side-by-Side Trails

There are a large number of Off-Road and ATV trails throughout the Umpqua National Forest which surrounds Lemolo Lake KOA.  We do NOT allow riding of ATV's, Side-by-Sides or other off road vehicles in the campground other than to idle in and idle out of our facility to access designated off-road areas.  You will want to do your research before exploring on your ATV as fines are significant for off-roading in prohibited areas.  We have Motor Vehicle Use Maps available for FREE in our store to help you navigate where you can and can't ride.
