This was our 4th stay at this campground. We love coming back every year to visit Lava Hot Springs and stay at KOA. The bathrooms are convenient, the campground is in good shape.

This KOA is our favorite place to stay in LHS. Walking distance to town but a quiet getaway with sites right on the river. Nice patios and well maintained landscaping. The store had any essentials you need and some neat souvenir options. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location along the river. River front camping spots are worth the extra money. They have table and chairs and a great view and sound of the River. Very nice accommodations. We were pleasantly surprised and would stay there again

I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the park the cleaning of the restrooms. All the different amenities there were offered if you wanted to take advantage of the picnic area up by the restrooms for a larger crowd for a meal. The people that worked inside the office which I had been in there different times were all very courteous and polite. I was very happy with my state and rescheduled

Great place to stay. We've come every year the last few years with a large family group and everyone has a great time. The location is great and it's always clean and well taken care of.

I love Lava Hot Springs! My family & I have been going there for 28 straight years! However, it is getting more and more expensive to stay here. The ownership keeps changing and the timeframe to make reservations keeps changing as well. We always stay the same week each year & it seems like we have a harder time getting spots next to eachother due to those changes every year.

Beautiful place, friendly staff, so happy they had a small convenient store on premises at check-in to cover any items forgotten; like eggs! Camping right on the river only 2 minutes from town was awesome! Thank you.

We had a large family reunion, rented multiple RV spaces . Quiet, very clean, very accommodating. Close enough to town to walk. We already booked next years stay to make it three years in a row.

Great campground, clean bathrooms with great facilities. I reserved late so did not have the best spot but there are plenty of nice spaces along the river.

semi-level sights. over priced. staff not that friendly. check in is 3pm. even though our site was ready, they wouldn't let us in at 2:35. truck and train noise constantly. if you're headed to lava hot springs, there are other campgrounds to look at.

We had a fun time, camping with family and cousins, our 41st year at Lava HS, most of those years at this campground! The current owners do a great job with this camp, and we enjoy annual improvements. Everywhere else we travel, we rate the campgrounds by this one, some close, and few better than this one!

It was a great, clean place to stay. We loved that we could walk to the little downtown and the aquatic center. We happened to be there on a night where the train went by at least 4 times while we slept…it sounded like it was coming right towards us. Besides that and the big truck noise on the highway, we loved our stay!

We’ve come to Lava HHS since 1982, always fun! We’ve been at this campground for over 20 years, and every year the campground is better. Looking forward to next year!

Jim at the desk made a series of errors regarding our reservation from January 2022 and then claimed we owed $11 even though our receipt showed fully paid. Blamed it on a price increase but after refusing to pay, he finally wrote it off. Nickel and Diming. Park was nice, but the mosquito spraying truck at 10 pm, the trains all night and trash truck at 5:45 am were ridiculous. Wouldn’t recommend

We’ve been going there for years and unfortunately we will all not be back due to your prices. They are ridiculous.

Prices are based on supply and demand. Therefore; if a guest stays anytime other than July 1-August 15th the prices will be cheaper.

The spaces are pretty tight together but the setup allows for privacy and a great camping experience. I love the concrete pads and fire pit! Neat little path runs along the road so you can walk into town. We really loved it there and will return.

Site 85 should not be used for vans. It is not flat, therefore we could not use the hook ups we paid for. In addition, people in the campground left their awning lights on which blasted in to our pop top. There was zero privacy and loud motorcycles and trucks came in at all hours. While the staff was friendly, I cannot recommend anyone staying here given the noise from the road and trains.

When they say 3pm check in, they mean it. No early check in. Not even for a fee. The place was half full. Clean campground.

Great for our 1 night stay. Short distance to a great water park and hot springs. Campground needs to have a larger area for campers when checking in. When returning from town had to wait an extremely long time for 4 campers to move to allow our truck to get by to go to our site. Just not enough room at the registration parking lot. Overall good stay!

Sites were so small. Dog next door kept out all night cried right next to our window. tied to the post where we got our electricity, unplugged throughout the night. No access to river unless you were camping on it. Train running all night long. So noisy. Over priced for the amenities offered.

Quick and easy off the highway. Staff was friendly and place was clean. Just an overnighter for us. Plus there is a water park with 2 miles and hot springs you can soak in.

We had a spot with the fire pit kinda in the road, but I was able to get it last minute and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Full hookups are so nice, the bathroom and shower facilities are always clean and very nice. There is a play ground for the kids, corn hole, volley ball. Most of all the staff was very nice and helpful. close to lava walking for tubing, hot pots, food

The lower sites down on the lower end are too tight, probably my only complaint. We love this KOA and will continue to come back to years to come.

We stayed in L46 and patio is facing the river. Very nice night bbq and fire pit experience. Close by train tracks and freeway is the downside though. The cabin was very clean and cozy. Kids loved the bunk beds.

The cabins are very cozy, close to the Portneuf river across from the cabins. It runs by some great RV parking spots looking at that river. I gave them 2 stars for service because no one is around Monday to Thursday, along with limited working hours Friday- Sunday. If you want something, you have to get in your vehicle and drive about a mile away to their other office in a different area of town. I find that ridiculous or even worse, asinine, not sure what the owner was thinking of that concept. Everything else was great. Some people might have other opinions about driving away to check out, they should have a drop box located around the office area to drop off the keys where we were staying at, instead of us driving to the other location drop it off, I found that to be very inconvenience for us.
