The campground was clean and well groomed in spite of the recent winter weather that was present just a week prior to our stay. The place is next to the highway and train tracks so would be bothersome to light sleepers. We managed just fine.

Staff and facilities are all very professional. This particular KOA loses marks due to its proximity to the very busy highway (lots of truckers using compression brakes) and the railroad. Very small window early in the a.m. when the area was actually quiet.

What a beautiful campground! The sites are well spaced and beautifully maintained. Andie and her staff were delightful. Being able to walk into town and to the hot springs was a real plus.

We had a family emergency and they moved us to a nicer location by the river. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness.

We stayed two nights in L47 campers cabin. It was clean, very spacious and well laid out, and very comfortable. There was a nic view of the the Portneuf river and some watefalls, and a deck with a gas grill, a fire pit, and patio table and chairs. I highly recommend this KOA.

The only issue I had was with the showers. They are not very well designed. I have a disability that I can't stand for long periods and I need to seat down to dressed. The shower even though that they are big they are not suitable for disable people, because in order to dressed you have to do it outside the showers. No privacy. I had to bring my own chair to seat and dressed outside the showers.

Right in the hills. Close to town along river walking trail. Hot spring pool in town, plus water park. If you like long freight trains, watch from the campground. My family would use this park for overnight or longer. Depends on are travel needs.

Stay was great, weather was not so great. First morning after arrival we woke up to 4" of snow. Significant snow still in some areas. Our spot was clean and snow was cleared. Lots of disgusting goose poop everywhere in the campground. Wet weather made it even more disgusting than normal. Bathrooms and showers were clean and staff was friendly and accommodating.

We had an amazing week at Lava Hot Springs KOA. The Manager and Owner went out of their way to ensure a package we had delivered was picked up at the Post Office and delivered to us. TY.

The bathrooms should've been warmer. I don't see a reason to not have any heat in the bathrooms when the temperature outside is so cold.

Great location and clean, well organized sites. Even water with freezing temperatures. The bathrooms and showers were extremely nice, each with private rooms.

I don’t usually give 5 stars, but the staff did go above and beyond. There were a few hiccups but as I said, the staff made up for it. From our campsite being full of snow and needing to move, to the water needing to be shut off, needing to dig out the sewer trap, the staff was always pleasant and made sure we were taken care of. Great location great views. Will come back.

The cabin is set on a beautiful part of the river. It is pleasant to sit on the back patio, turn in the fire pit, and enjoy the view. The kitchen has most of what you need and the cabin is nice and clean with comfortable beds.

We never stay in Koa but this was open during the crazy snow winter. Host was super helpful and we were basically alone in the East Campground right on the river. I imagine summer here is super busy. But river right at your site would be very nice.

It was beautiful, comfortable, private and close to the hot pools. I loved it. I want to come back as soon as I can.

Beautiful cabin (#5) for this stay, everthing was perfect. Please fix the WIFI as it drops out all the time.

The cabins have just about everything you need. The outside patio over the river is amazing. Have stayed there numerous times. The staff is very friendly. The only negative is I wish they would buy new mattresses.

Everything about our stay was great except for out of the 3 Deluxe Cabins we rented, only one of the fire features on the back decks worked. We all went to the deck where the fire feature worked to roast marshmallows so it worked out, however wasted quite a bit of time and effort trying to get the other two to work.

It was really great what a beautiful place. Customer service was amazing. I don't know how we got so lucky. Definitely recommend to anybody looking for a little romantic getaway.

We stayed in L46 and patio is facing the river. Very nice night bbq and fire pit experience. Close by train tracks and freeway is the downside though. The cabin was very clean and cozy. Kids loved the bunk beds.

The cabins are very cozy, close to the Portneuf river across from the cabins. It runs by some great RV parking spots looking at that river. I gave them 2 stars for service because no one is around Monday to Thursday, along with limited working hours Friday- Sunday. If you want something, you have to get in your vehicle and drive about a mile away to their other office in a different area of town. I find that ridiculous or even worse, asinine, not sure what the owner was thinking of that concept. Everything else was great. Some people might have other opinions about driving away to check out, they should have a drop box located around the office area to drop off the keys where we were staying at, instead of us driving to the other location drop it off, I found that to be very inconvenience for us.
