It was nice unit especially the deck area but I thought sleeps 4 was for 4 adults… no way do the bunks sleep adults. Also the bunk area needed more air circulation.

I was unaware how close this KOA was to the main road and train tracks. The train literally runs ALL NIGHT LONG and shakes the entire trailer. The KOA itself was great but the location is absolutely HORRIBLE. I wouldn't stay here again solely because of the location and lack of sleep I got the two nights there. KOA staff was friendly and helpful.

Enjoy our stay, beautiful campground, nice cabin but the trains and traffic at night when you are trying to get to sleep loud. Next time will except war plugs they offered.

We booked the spot we did was because of the description of the site and we feel we were very mislead. It was listed as a super site (#16), having patio,table/chairs,picnic table,charcoal grill,fire bowl. That it would accommodate 1 RV,2 tents, 2 vehicles. There wasn’t a picnic table or charcoal grill. There wasn’t any room for 1 tent, let alone 2. Paid over $330 for 2 nights. Very mislead.

The campground was well taken care of and convenient to downtown. The only complaint was the tent site was so small the tent barely fit.

The KOA, itself, was nice. However, the site we had (53) is way to small. There was barely enough room to put a chair up without being in the next site. With that said, staff and accommodations were nice and met the norm KOA standards.

The staff treats guests like they are an inconvenience. We were asked 5 times after check in how any people, tents & pets we had, basically treated as though we were lying. On check out day one of the KOA groundskeepers harassed us all AM after he saw our retired avalanche dog who can't walk was off leash laying next to our tent. Felt a fool for paying so much, nickeled and dimed to death!

Very clean and friendly campground. A lot of amenities and within walking distance from all that Lava Hot Springs has to offer.

The KOA cabins in lava hot springs are extremely clean and well kept. They are nice and comfortable and a great place to stay! It was perfect for our family of 5. We will for sure stay here again!

Really fun trip! Only spent two nights there but made the most of it. Great location but still separated from the clutter from downtown.

Extremely loud and crowded. There was a train track 100 yards from our tent that ran several times in the day AND night and right in front of that track is a busy highway! Sooo incredibly loud. I do not recommend staying here in a tent!

Good location. Close to hot springs. Lots of shade. Pull throughs are very narrow. No gravel in spots. When it rains and it did. The spots turn to mud.

I can’t stay here anymore. For 22 years, off & on, we have been taking our kids here and this was our final time. The rates are UNREAL, per person, per site, per tent!!! If there customer service equaled what you paid, it might be worth it, but it’s not. Our tradition will have to be moved elsewhere, this stay was our final time here and we won’t be back, either will our family & friends.

We apologize for the confusion regarding the rate structure and that it has discouraged your future return visits. The rate structure has been in place for years and apparently was overlooked by staff in the past. Lava Hot Springs is a great place to visit and we hope you enjoyed your stay.

Loved our space. But did have a few problems getting backed in. The space is a double, as we had a truck and boat with, but wish that we had a little guidance as to how to line the motor home up to avoid the trees and get the slide out without bumping anything important.

The Deluxe cabins were perfect for our family reunion. Each family had their own little cabin, right next to each other. The location on the river was so fun to watch the tubers...and you can walk down the hill to grab a tube from Gator Rentals and jump on. So convenient. The man at the front desk was awesome and helpful and was so gracious when we had a misunderstanding about our dog.

The stay was great! Friendly staff. I have stayed in multiple KOA cabins but this one was a little different. The bunkbeds seemed extremely narrow compared to other ones we have stayed in. Also not front porch swing :(

Site was very clean upon arrival. site was easy to back into and everyone was friendly. This was our second time staying at KOA East. We will definitely be back. Great job KOA!!! THANK YOU!

We stayed in the premium site #12, so it is one of their most expensive ones. Lovely site, but the patio was really dirty. Not from nature, but food and who knows what else. It really should have been washed off prior to our 5 night stays at nearly 600$. We will stay there again but I will bring a hose attachment to clean up if needed.

Very happy the basic cabin had air conditioning. The individual bath rooms and showers were a pleasant surprise as well.

Noisy. Front desk boys unprofessional. We were early and they sent us to an overflow area that was unfit for our size rig. Actually snapped a spring shackle backing and turning around. All of this when the campground was 80 percent empty at 1:30 pm when we arrived. They said they had no way of knowing if a site was available!

Employees were young yet very friendly and helpful. It would be nice to get more instructions upon checking in. . 1) don’t use the cooling unit it will blow the fuse and leave you with no power. 2) no tank needed for your grill it is plumbed in. 3) fire place requires a lighter etc. The beds were surprisingly very comfortable.

We stayed in L46 and patio is facing the river. Very nice night bbq and fire pit experience. Close by train tracks and freeway is the downside though. The cabin was very clean and cozy. Kids loved the bunk beds.

The cabins are very cozy, close to the Portneuf river across from the cabins. It runs by some great RV parking spots looking at that river. I gave them 2 stars for service because no one is around Monday to Thursday, along with limited working hours Friday- Sunday. If you want something, you have to get in your vehicle and drive about a mile away to their other office in a different area of town. I find that ridiculous or even worse, asinine, not sure what the owner was thinking of that concept. Everything else was great. Some people might have other opinions about driving away to check out, they should have a drop box located around the office area to drop off the keys where we were staying at, instead of us driving to the other location drop it off, I found that to be very inconvenience for us.
