KOA Holiday is proud to be a sponsor of the Whiteface Mountain Uphill Bike Race.A Challenge Awaits!The Whiteface Uphill Bike Race will be Saturday, June 1 at 5:30 p.m. Climb 3,500 feet over 8 miles up the scenic Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway to the top of New York's 5th highest peak for a 360° panoramic view of the Adirondacks, New England and Canada.   • The race starts in the middle of Wilmington at the Visitors Bureau, 5753 NYS RT 86 Wilmington NY.
  • Packet pick-up and parking will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Preston Festival Field, 1135 Springfield Road, Wilmington, NY (just around the corner from the starting line).
  • Packet will include your bib, t-shirt and meal voucher.
  • There will be a bag drop vehicle at the starting line if you desire a change of clothes for the top. Please make sure you have your name and phone number on or in the bag.
  • We use a timing mat and do a rolling start instead of a mass start. You will get a timing chip with your bib.
  • If you don't feel comfortable riding your bike back down, you may have someone meet you at the top. We will sell spectator passes at registration. These are cash only and a per person price.

If you like a challenge, this is the course for you. This USATF certified course covers 8 miles over an 8 percent grade up Whiteface Mountain's scenic Veterans' Memorial Highway. Uphill Bike Race Rules
  • Helmets are required.
  • Each participant is responsible for their own transportation down the mountain at the close of the race. Riding back down is at your own risk, following pacing marshals. A minimum of two brakes is required.
  • Bug repellent and warm clothing for the summit are recommended.
  • Entrants are responsible for their own fluid needs during the race. No aid stations will be provided along the route. Fruit, snacks, and beverages will be served at the finish line. A meal voucher for local restaurants will be provided as a post race meal option. This is included in the race fee.

KOA is proud to be a sponsor for the Ausable River Two-Fly Challenge.The Ausable River Two-Fly Challenge was founded to celebrate the joy of fishing, the spirit of sportsmanship, the preservation of the Ausable River, and natural wonders of the Whiteface Region. Here is a brief look at what to expect this year:Thursday evening kicks off with Beer, Band and Bonfires at the Town Beach. Featuring live music and local food trucks. A night to feel the local flavor while relaxing by the Ausable and catching up with old friends. Friday morning is a day of awesome fishing the West Branch of the Ausable followed by the Fly Tyer's Reception at Twisted Raven. At the event you will get to grab some grub, enjoy some local music and tell you tales of the day while learning new techniques from our talented tyers. Saturday starts out with another great day on the water with another shot at getting your prized trout. The evening concludes with the Annual Two-Fly Banquet. This year's banquet will be held at the Hungry Trout where we will have raffles and prizes!The 411Rules for the catch-and-release tournament are simple: anglers are allowed to bring two barb-less hook flies of any combination or patterns. Once the flies are lost or unusable, he or she is out. Anglers must fish with a partner and each must record the total number of fish caught, the length of each fish, and the cumulative number of inches. Only fish handled by the angler and successfully released will count as caught fish. The winner is determined by the highest cumulative length of each fish caught. Each fisherman can choose just two flies to user per day. They must pick their flies they will use at the beginning of the day. If the lose them, they are done. Official rules are sent with registration confirmations.

  • The race starts at the intersection of Rt 431 and Rt 86. Staging is in the Adirondack Chocolates parking lot.
  • Packet pick-up and parking will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Preston Festival Field, 1135 Springfield Road, Wilmington, NY (just around the corner from the starting line).
  • Packet will include your bib, t-shirt and meal voucher.
  • There will be a bag drop vehicle at the starting line if you desire a change of clothes for the top. Please make sure you have your name and phone number on or in the bag.
  • You may have someone meet you at the top. We will sell spectator passes at registration. These are cash only and a per person price. We will also have limited shuttle service for those who don't have a support vehicle for their descent down the mountain. If you will need to use this service, please indicate this on your registration.
