The office called after I booked a site online to let us know that they had had much rain & the site booked had standing water. Another site was offered. We were escorted to our site by a staff member.

Quite campground, the perfect overnight spot after a long day of driving. The 605 restaurant down the street serves a nice meal as well. Not much to do outside the park.

After staying in several KOA locations this month, this was by far the quietest. Especially appreciated the park managers, who were very helpful and service oriented. A must stay on way to or from Mt Rushmore and area.

We were on a long drive-11 hours with 3 kids and a dog when we learned our KOA in Mitchell’s pool was not open. All our kids wanted to do is swim, so we drove another 100 miles to Kennebec. At check in was told no pool open….it was NOT on website or emailed to me. Not cool. In addition, camp was not very full, yet they put all the campers right next to each other. Do not recommend.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The pool's opening date, as published in the KOA directory and on the KOA web site, is Memorial Day. As you arrived on the 29th, the pool was nit yet open. I am sorry you were unaware of this but the information was available.

2Nd time we stayed here. Lady who made our reservation and work in office was friendly and very helpful. Will definitely stay here again possibly in 2 weeks

We just stayed overnight on our way back from Wyoming so we didn’t check all things out, but our site was level and the hookup’s in good order. We were pleasantly surprised that there was what looked like a new Kamp K9 that isn’t listed in the amenities which should be, it was super.

Easy self checkin with good site map. Internet was great. We only stayed a night as we made our way west. Easy to find. Easy On off interstate . Not much infrastructure at this exit, but we palled for this. There is a casino very close by

We just stayed overnight so we did not get to check out everything. The staff was very friendly and the park looked very nice well maintained wish we could have stayed longer but we were traveling to our next destination. I would highly recommend this place.

Not too much to see and do in and around Kennebec, but the campground is clean and well maintained. The staff is very helpful. We only stayed one night, but it was a very good night.

Arrived on a Sunday afternoon. Had significant rainfall Sunday night. My site and ALMOST EVERY OTHER SITE had small ponds everywhere. 3”-4” of water right where the camper door is and 3”-4” on other side where all utilities hook up. Water stayed for 2 days. Their is a small creek running next to sites. HOW HARD WOULD IT HAVE BEEN TO RAISE THESE SITES A FOOT AND GET THE WATER TO RUN OFF!!

The Kennobec KOA is the first one we’ve ever given a bad rating. The water faucet may have not be on since winter because it filled our new filter and faucet with setimen. We had a long drive-2 time zones but we’re charged $6 extra for arriving 1 1/2 hours early- not one camper in the entire park and no one in the office. Definitely will skip this KOA in the future

We stayed 9/17/21 and on 10/4/21 on our way back. Kennebec KOA is a great place to stop when on the way to your final designation! Love that a laundry and sink for washing dishes is available. Outside of the highway traffic, the campground was quiet. The bathrooms were clean, but could use a little updating. Suggestion: check the picnic tables periodically - ours had bird droppings all over it.

If you want a place to flop for the night this no frills KOA is for you. It was not busy at all....yet when I asked for a later check out I was charged. There were 5 camps total ....most places don't do this. Make sure you have food and groceries too. Not much out there.

Our first time camping there the sites were level and spacious just off the interstate if you ride motorcycle is is a good place to stay a small downtown with a few restaurants or if you feel like checking out surrounding areas your not to far
