Campground Reviews

We had a fairly level lot(#87). A pull though site. We thought the road noise would be a problem but with the bedroom located away from the road, we hardly noticed. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay for the Halloween weekend. Nice park. We liked our site. We had a pull through site. We did have to back in it because of a picnic table in the way that was covering a big hole. We had plenty of room to back in though. We will definitely be coming back in the spring/summer when the pool is open. The bathhouse is very nice with private bathrooms. Need to restock TP more often.

Our only complaint is that the cabin that we stayed in did not seem like it had been thoroughly cleaned. The floor needed swept and the shower floor was dirty. However we participated in most of the activities, the staff was very friendly, our children had a wonderful time and the campground was a nice break from home.

Lodging was clean and well maintained. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome during our stay. We will be back!

The overall stay was nice. The campground itself was clean but the shower in our cabin had mold and the refrigerator was not cold. The office was able to change our reservation when we needed to delay the date of arrival by one day. We were surprised that there was not any dishes/cutlery in the cabin, even though the website said partial kitchen, other partial kitchen KOA cabins have had those.

Staff very good, sites not so The traffic noise was the worst. No cable, bad wifi could only get 3 channels.

Our family absolutely loved the covered wagon! It did have some wasp problems, they offered to move us to a different one but the window was broken so we declined. Bathrooms were much cleaner than I expected! Playground was small, but cute for little kids. Mini golf was boring from an adult standpoint, but my 4yr old enjoyed it and my 12 year old did about half of it. Beautiful campground.

We stayed in the tree house. It was the coolest place. It was cozy and comfy. The view was great! They have so many options for camping and it is very kid-mazing. I will go back. I will look for more KOAs with tree houses. The area has loads of adventures to be seen. Great place

Our second time staying here, what a great place to stay, staff is great.

We had a very nice day at the Horse Cave KOA. The sites were spacious and the layout of the park was easy to move around in. It's located right in the heart of Cave country so there are lots of sites and attractions to see while you're there. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We reserved a pull through, full hook up site. When we arrived we were in a site that had a huge hole and could not pull through. The site did not have sewer. Only electric and water. When we asked about moving, we were told no sites available. Many sites were empty. Bathrooms needed attention all weekend. This is the first time staying at a KOA that we have been very disappointed.

Some of the amenities were closed. Camp sites were not very level for larger RV's.

The wagons were really a unique idea. The patio, firepit, & grill were nice. Unfortunately, the bedspread was stained, sheets on the top bunk were missing, a Cheetos wrapper behind the bed, heat unit quit working in the middle of the night & wouldn’t come back on (33 degrees that night), & four of the bathrooms were out of toilet paper. Fishing pond polluted w/laundry detergent and trash all ove

We had a cabin. The cabin was clean and was perfect for our stay. The location was good for going to Mammoth Cave NP. The young lady who checked us in was very friendly and nice. She helped us with a recommendation for a place to get dinner and directions. Would recommend this place to others.

We stayed in site 43 - a back-in site with a concrete pad. I have a 33 foot Class A. This site, and several next to it, is frightening. The slope is steep and my rear wheels would need to be off of the ground to level my coach —- the same wheels needed for braking. Wheel chocks are not enough to protect from 21000 lbs rolling off the cliff. And hydro jacks aren’t made for that. Not safe.

We really enjoyed the campground! It was so close to everything we wanted to see. It was right off the interstate and easy to find. The staff was very helpful and polite. Everything was very clean and well kept. I was disappointed the jumping pillow was not up and operational though. We stayed in a tent and the interstate noise didn’t bother us. We will be back!

My grandchildren enjoyed the playground.sad that the jumpy was in need of repair. The facilities were excellent. Our only issue was the pull through site was not level.

My husband and I stayed at a covered wagon for our anniversary. The view onto the farm land was incredible, and it was a pleasant surprise! It was a short walk to the community bathrooms, which were actually individual bathrooms, some with tubs! I was also shocked to see tile used in the bathrooms. Our only regret is that we wish we would have booked more nights! We can’t wait to return!

Horns on cars blowed all night. Noise campground.

Great facility. Beautiful views. Stayed in the covered wagon and teepee, really neat experience.

The dump station was poorly designed. Once we turned around at the very bottom of the hill and came back uphill it was much easier. Other than that it was a great experience everyone was super nice. It was clean, the bathroom design was amazing, and it was a beautiful campground.

Super friendly staff, the cabin could have been cleaner.

Great place. Nice view, clean campground & right off highway.

I made error of reserving site w/o sewer so I tried to change it @ arrival. They said they couldn't help me. I was there 3 weekdays and the campground was never half full and there were plenty of sites. I was supposed to get a pull through but couldn't pull in my site due to a huge hole where they were working on drain lines. Their dump station is on steep incline so you can't empty your tanks.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

I am sorry you feel like we couldn't help you. We did not have any full-hook up available during your stay. We would of been more than happy to upgraded you if it was possible.

Nice park - very friendly staff. Why no cable TV?

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are talking to a company to see if cable for RV can be ran into our park.

Everything was fine. Need a better store. Jump pillow was not blown up for kids.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for your feed back. Sorry the jump pillow got a rip in it. New one on ordered. Our camp store is under a remodel to make room for new items.

loved the KOA grounds - the little surprises everywhere, the decorations, the teepee - very clean and nice. Would definitely recommend it!

All very nice!

Having camped for decades this is easily one of the nicest we’ve seen. we got a big pull through spot. They have so many options if you don’t have an RV, such as Conestoga wagons, 2 teepees designed by the owners and built by the Amish, 2 tree top rooms and cabins. I would send someone there if only to see how wonderful their public bathroom is. I can’t explain it to you.

What an amazing, relaxing stay! We were in the area visiting family and decided to splurge and stay in the treehouse cabin. I didn't want to leave!!! Beautiful views at sunset, tons of outdoor space, and stunning interior. Lots for kids to do. (I had to try the jumping pillow for myself! Highly recommend!) The staff are so sweet, especially Lisa. Places like this are why we stay at KOAs and not hotels! Can't beat it!

Had a really nice, level site. Great amenities and the bathrooms are top notch! Only issue we had was with the internet/TV connection. We wound up using our phones as mobile hot spots to watch tv....

Our recent stay at Horse Cave KOA in Kentucky was an extraordinary experience that we highly recommend to anyone looking for an outdoor adventure. Nestled in the heart of nature, this campground not only offers the serenity and beauty one seeks in a getaway but also boasts facilities that are impeccably maintained and staffed by some of the friendliest people we've encountered. What sets Horse Cave KOA apart are its unique accommodations, particularly the teepees and tree houses, which provide a one-of-a-kind camping experience. The teepees offer a fun, traditional, yet comfortable camping vibe, allowing you to connect with the great outdoors without sacrificing comfort. On the other hand, the tree houses are an absolute dream for those looking to elevate their stay—quite literally! Perched among the branches, these accommodations offer stunning views and a tranquil setting that makes you feel as if you've stepped into a fairy tale. The cleanliness of the amenities here deserves a special mention. Whether it was the restrooms, the common areas, or the accommodations themselves, everything was spotless. The proximity to local attractions adds another layer of appeal, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The Horse Cave KOA provides an unparalleled camping experience that combines the beauty of Kentucky's natural landscapes with the charm of unique accommodations and the warmth of exceptional service. It's a perfect spot for families, couples, and solo adventurers seeking a memorable escape into nature.
