Young kids on golf carts all day and night long. Screaming, unsafe. No oversight on grounds. Store lacked items compared to other KOA’s. Beautiful location however we will not return. Fire pit had mess from fire campers. Very disappointed. My first negative response at any of the KOA’s we stayed at.

We loved the lakeside site. Very beautiful area. Clear water was welcomed after camping at other GA lakes where the water was so brown you couldn’t see an inch deep. We enjoyed walking the various loops. It would be nice to have sites with sewers, but that is not a major issue. The dumping station was well maintained and easy to use. It was a pleasant stop!

Would love to see a bath house in the area where tent camping near sites 48-50 for easier access without driving for ones that have health issues otherwise is a very clean well kept campground.

A beautiful camp ground. It was great being in the woods. Lake is huge. Fishermen were taking advantage of the warm weather. I would stay here again.

Great campground with beautiful views. Only downside - don’t expect cell service. And don’t expect WIFI to work. We never had a signal or wifi connection at our site.

Loved the live Blue Grass Bands, but was right over dinner hour while we were cooking at camp. Ladies rest room was so dirty Sunday morning I chose not to shower.

Wonderful team. I was late in my schedule and the office was closed when I arrived. Everything was ready for me to enjoy anyway, they even put a pile of wood I ordered at my place for my to have a little Heat after a day in my motorcycle. I really appreciated all the help provided.

Was a nice place. Check in was easy and since there were few sites occupied, we were given option of changing sites if we saw one we liked better. Our site was great and right on the lake. Bathhouse was a good distance away but was warm with great showers and hot water. We decided to leave early because the weather was turning even colder and were given a refund that I was not expecting. Great!

Spent 3 nights. Access to lake was great from the campsite. View was outstanding and lay out of site afforded decent privacy. Office personnel were great and helped in picking the perfect spot.

Love the serenity of the Lake and tent locations. The bathhouse was clean and warmed. The staff was excellent to deal with. I would like to return again for another trip one day.

We had a great experience! KAO was very accomodating, we had a beautiful campsite, quiet neighbors, and a great view of the lake. We went on both hikes and enjoyed them very much, fished from the shore and got wood for fire delivered. The price was very fair and we especially enjoyed how it's not as busy and loud as some other campgrounds in the area. We will certainly be back!

We've been enthusiastic camping family for 55 yrs, having camped throughout US, Canada, & Mexico, creating wonderful memories. Sadly, our experience @ Hart Recreation Resort is a horror story! Campers next to us allowed 2German Shepherd dogs 2run freely OFF LEASH. Fearfully imprisoned in our camper, we made 5 calls 2 office 4help. Effective action was never taken & dogs roamed free our entire stay

We truly love this place. Beautiful surroundings and super helpful friendly staff! Every site is either waterfront or has amazing proximity to the shoreline. Sites are set up to afford pretty good privacy, and all in all the grounds are just gorgeous- walkable, bikeable, a great place to get some fresh air.

I booked a FHU Pull-Thru site for a week stay. I discovered I was put in a site with no sewer. When I asked the young man in the office I was told they had a FHU, but it wasn’t Pull-Thru, and I’d have to leave a day early as it was booked. I opted instead to leave after 3 nights.

The staff is friendly. The property is clean and beautiful. The RV sites are spacious, with nice patio/deck areas. There is an area that has teepees, that would make for a fun stay for kids, and there is a dog park. Although the bathrooms were clean, the temperature of the water in the showers was warm, but never hot, which…in the winter, made for a very uncomfortable shower experience.

We love this campground and frequent it a lot. But hate check out is 11am. Most campground we have stayed at are at least 12pm checkout.

Although it was freezing, we enjoyed our stay by the lake. The campground is clean, and beautiful. We loved the views and it was very relaxing just being there. We didn’t let the freeze scare us away and had a wonderful time.

We were there during Christmas time, 2022. The temperature dropped dramatically and stayed freezing for several days. I am saying all this to make a point of how helpful the staff members were. They did everything they could to help us have running water and a safe stay. We are looking forward to going back when the weather is better! Beautiful campground

Great sites with plenty of room. Beautiful, well maintained sites. Definitely one of the best there is. Lake front for boating, swimming, and fishing. Peaceful and family oriented with a playground and even a pet park.

Ultimately it was a great camping experience. Secure gated access. Informed us there were waterfront sites available when we arrived, that weren't available when we reserved. Sites were decent. Bath Houses were a bit run down but relatively clean and accessible. Only complaint was not due to the park but due to our next door camping neighbors. Smoking marijuana all through the day and night which blew over around our child.

This is an honest review of our stay (7-27-23) at the Georgia Lakeside KOA campground. We knew that KOA had just recently purchased this state park and we were unsure what to expect but we were surprised at the campground. We'll start with the good: I'll say that the staff were all courteous and helpful, the sites are clean and spacious and the surrounding area is QUIET. The negative, which we believe will be fixed over time. If you are expecting the traditional KOA Holiday fancy or updated amenities, you will be let down with a few items. The bathouses are old and outdated, somewhat clean but dark and not properly remodeled, the bouncy pad isn't the normal big bouncy pillow, wifi is slow and the waterfront sites/water are littered with leaves making it a murky swim but we know that they have nothing to do with this. So with that said, our campsite was site #15 and it was beautiful and LEVEL. If you are in a RV and it rains, you'll be fine but if you are tent camping on site #15 and it rains, look out for 5in of rain on the site. As soon as the rain stops, it dries up quickly but keep in mind if you are tent camping.
