I found out that the reviews about the restrooms were false there was a guy in there twice in one day keeping them clean the grounds were also clean and everyone that works there is very friendly the sites are Level however the boat docks could use some work

4 nights in a camper. Really there is no bad site. Ours was right on the water, convenient for boating and swimming within 10 feet from our door. Would come back and stay there again next year.

We were there 5 nights, the staff was not very friendly, the maintenance to the area was not what we would expect at a KOA campground.

We stayed two nights in the cabins. Small but very pleasant experience! We will stay there again. The porch was used in the AM and the evenings when the temperature was cooler.

Absolutely beautiful spot in the lake! Will definitely be back! Only problem I have is they need to cool the bath houses. Very hot! And clean more regularly. Staff are extremely nice and just a beautiful location.

We stayed for 7 nights and loved everything about this campground - the staff was friendly and attentive, the grounds beautiful and well-maintained, and the spaciousness of each site added to the appeal. We definitely plan to return and hope to plan a family reunion for SC and GA family members.

Very nice place, clean and loved the swim platform as it was in the 90s the day we stayed there. Definitely recommend another stay there.

Loved the park and most of the sites had access to the lake. However, this was the first KOA that I've ever been to that did not show you to your site and didn't have trash pickup.

Loved staying here. We had a beautiful tent site that was convenient to the bath house and entrance. Staff was very polite and helpful and a huge thank you to Haley in the office … I would definitely stay here again.

The site was difficult to get in and out, but had great access to the lake. The bathrooms were dirty our entire stay. This was the only KOA I’ve ever been to that had almost zero amenities. No activities, no garbage service, no pool, etc. This campground is highly overpriced for what you are getting. No rules are enforced which results in some pretty obnoxious behaviors by other campers.

Great location, maybe on of the best destination campgrounds I’ve been too. Cleanliness of the bathrooms was an issue. They were very outdated, which is fine. This is fine. As long as you have an aggressive cleaning schedule, which they definitely did not.

The site was very grown up with trees everywhere & very unlevel. There are no decent swim areas due to bushes & weeds. KOA should have a pool & better play areas for children. The bathhouse is rotting & nasty. We will never stay there again unless improvements are made. The only good thing I can say is that the office staff was pleasant.

It was my first time at the tent site. The last time I camped with koa I had a rv site even though I had a tent. It was wonderful and felt respected in my space. This time we were at a site. My space was not respected. Drunk people inour space. I was camping with my niece. We even had people (kids) peek into our tent at night. I don't know if I will come back but definitely not to the tent site

Old state park turned in to a KOA. Some sites are decent, some are really tough to get in and out of with steep hills undeveloped sites. Expect to see the most interesting fellow campers.

Some areas of the park are “redneck city.” Park doesn’t enforce rules. Golf carts being operated by 10-12 year olds without adult supervision and children unsupervised on bicycles everywhere. Could be a real problem if and when someone gets hurt.

Beautiful campground, bathroom (comfort stations) dated and could use more attention. That being said, this is a busy popular campground so they were adequate for the amount of people there. Very natural surroundings, lots of shade!

Horrible! Will never camp here again. Music blaring for three straight nights; dogs running loose and threatening my leashed dogs; messages left for management with no response; police were called by other campers two nights in a row, music blared after they left until 12:30 am; children driving UTV's with no regard to traffic; gate code was given out to party goers not camping. Don't go there!

We love how the sites with the decks are set up. We didn't like how so many young kids were driving golf carts around & being wreck-less. My son had a wreck on his bike due to 2 young children driving wreck-less; the day before another little boy almost got hit by the same 2 boys driving the golf cart. This is our 2nd stay this summer & we witnessed it then too. This KOA lacks in activities.

Great place to stay. The park ranger's need to do a better job of rule enforcement. Cars blocking the street, too many cars per campsite, counted 8 on one site. Multiple boat trailers stored on campsite. I would also highly recommend adding a "No Wake" buoy for the small inlet on the site 30 / cabin side.to protect the swimmers.

This is the best RV park we've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Impeccably clean restroom and bath house. Industrious, friendly, helpful staff that kept the park clean and manicured. The only thing that I might complain about is that there were lots of golf carts, scooters, and utility vehicle driven by kids flying around the park's roads after dark - potentially a dangerous situation.

I messed up and had to book an extra night. The young lady at the front desk gave me a list of available tent sites as mine was already booked for the extra night. Somehow, the view from my second site was better. The staff were incredible helping with this, and the grounds themselves were as scenic as can be.

This is one of the best camping places we have been to. Hartwell lakeside KOA has excellent camping options. Great Lake views. Restrooms are clean. Kids play area. Dog park. Variety of sites to fit your camping preferences. The staff is really friendly and provide great service. We have camped here 3 times and always recommend to our friends and family. I would anytime come back and camp here.
