We stay here as an overnight or two in our way to OBX. The park is clean, quiet and peaceful. Lots of shade.

Two night stay . Did not use any facilities. Had a nice pit fire and relaxed. Unfortunately I got sick, and there was a CVS health clinic which took care of me .

The place was small, very clean and overall very nice. This was a maiden voyage with my 13 foot MeerKat camper. Staff were friendly and very nice. We got one of the patio sites and only stayed one night. I would come here again.

The location was lovely but the little lake was dirty and smelled. The laundry was EXTREMELY disappointing. We stayed for 12 days and the place only had 1 (ONE) dryer! With no plans to fix them. They said corporate has been contacted but no word for 2 years! We leave this bad review mostly for that reason. We paid the highest price for our trip so far and were very disappointed.

Site 15 was 7 % grade which made it very difficult to level There were exposed tree roots exposed. I tripped and fell over them. I fell down and was not pleased with this. Being a disabled vet I would not recommend this camp ground to any of my veterns friends.

We were traveling south from Vermont and decided to stop for the evening. We were able to make a last minute reservation. They were very friendly and helpful on the phone. It was easy to get to from the interstate. We will definitely stay there again to explore the area.

The campground was well taken care of, except for the showers. I don't think the showers were cleaned once during our stay. We had reserved a patio site and paid the premium for it. Compared to the patio site we stayed on in the Lancaster KOA, where the patio came right up the camper, this was no patio site/premium site. Overall a nice campgrounds, close to all the civil war history.

The WORST! They are not maintaining the property and it is unsafe. Many trees are completely hollow at the base or dead and need to be taken down. Our camper was damaged by a large falling dead branch. They referred us to their sign-in wavier, that excludes all liability on them including their own negligence. Besides the dangerous sites, the water pressure was so low, the toilets would not flush.

Only stayed over night but was very nice! Store was awsome! Quiet and comfortable! Out of the way location. Road getting to this koa is narrow but manageable even for big rigs.

Convenient place to park for a night or 2. Pull-thru site was OK .. somewhat level. Cable and WiFi was good. Serves a need for reasonable place to park for a short visit.

Lovely, wooded , peacefully quiet setting. Great paved roads within park, gravel FHU with 50 amp sites. Immaculately clean spacious bathrooms & showers. Many of each. Exceptionally friendly & helpful staff. However, poor signage off Hwy. , extremely confusing direction after exit 118. Hwy. 1 not posted. Roads off Hwy. 1 to park are hairpin blind turns, no shoulders & drop offs. $81 overnight, bit high but close to east coast & our Nations Capital

Ran into truck trouble on 95 on a Thursday before Easter. We needed to find something very quickly and close to a dealership to have the truck fixed. Luck was on our side when we saw a KOA 10 miles from the dealer. I tend to over research before picking where to stay, however, we had no time. I booked a site literally 5 minutes before arriving. The grounds are beautiful, shady and tucked into the woods. Plenty of room to walk and for my son to ride his bike. A great playground which he loved as well. There is also a pond on site which adds to the charm. The general store/office was nicely stocked. They did not have milk or butter but had a couple of grocery items such as eggs and hot dogs. It had rained a lot the night before so the grassy areas were pretty soggy but the staff were actively trying to get any sitting water off the sites and roadways. The staff were super friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. If our travels bring us back to this area, we would definitely book again.

Stayed at this campground many times. Great location. This is the first time they charged extra for pets. Not sure why they need to do this. Maybe they charge extra for kids too. Campground prices are high enough without adding extra charges.
