We get together each Labor Day with a group of college friends. This was our first year at KOA and we were checking out our spots for next year before we left!

Very nice campgrounds, great staff, . We had a tire low, my husband went up to the store to see if they had anything to put air in, and the grounds keeper said jump in , took him up to his house got a air compressor and filled our tire. Great job , those little things mean a lot !! Keep up the great customer service!

Our family has stayed at this KOA in our travel trailer several times and we LOVE it! There are so many things to do - park, pool, jumping pad, water balloons, fishing, bikes, etc. The store is well stocked and has really great hours. During holiday weekends, they have an activity-packed schedule, with something for all ages. The sites are large and hook-ups accessible. Highly recommend!

WE STAYED A COUPLE OF DAYS, WHILE VISITING OUR DAUGHTER IN ANKENY, SINCE WE LEFT THE CAMPGROUND AFTER BREAKFAST AND RETURNED IN THE EVENING AFTER DINNER; CAN NOT COMMENT ON THE CAMPGROUND, FACILITIES AND ACTIVITIES. BUT THERE SEEMED TO BE A LOT OF ACTIVITIES FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN; WE LEFT WITH A VERY POSITIVE ATTITUDE RE CAMPGROUND.

Need to dust control the roads. Entirely to dusty and dirty for the price we pay to camp there. Hard to visit with friends and family when you are basically living on a gravel road.

Getting too big and trying to be too much for too many people. No control over people (adults and kids) walking through campsites. Live music is fine but when it goes late/long (after stated times) it’s just annoying. We’ve always liked DesMoines West (previously rated 10 with 5 stars) but not sure we’ll be back anytime soon.

Everything was clean and kid orientated. The pool and jump pillow were one way to cool off. The kids did tie-dyeing, made a buddy, fished and enjoyed the playground. The only thing that would make it better would be later hours on the pool. Thanks for the great stay

Easy check in, front desk people were very nice and explained everything to us. Lots of activities to keep everyone entertained. Only complaint is, all campsites and roads are gravel so get lots of dust. Would be nice if they would water down the roads every once in awhile to calm the dust down.

Great service and beautiful site. We loved the gas grill and furniture at site #129. There were many nice spots to walk your dog and we liked that the dog park had two sides for large and small dogs. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed 2 nights. We plan to stay here again but will never take a buddy site again. We shared sites with a woman and three very young children. The kids were outside our RV yelling, screaming, making a lot of noise with toys at 6:50 A.M. Why on earth KOA ends quiet time at 7 instead of 8 is beyond me. I know it's not just at the Des Moines KOA. I think most prefer a later time.

Very nice facility and very helpful staff. One of the ground workers saw that we had bicycles with us and went out of his way to come tell us about the different bike trails in the area and how to get to them. We plan to go back and spend some more time on the trails. The KOA also has a pizzeria on site that was good and delivered to our campsite.

Stayed 3 days several weeks ago. Returned for a single night on our return trip. Friendly staff, lots of room. Great dog run. Will definitely stay there next time through. Wish every KOA and other camping experiences were that great.

Good sized lots. Pretty level. Great places for kids!!!. Lots to do and very clean. Only bad part is other campers just do not abide by the don't pass through other's lots. Pizza is pretty good and store is nice.

The site was easily accessible, but we showed up for after hours check and they didn't have us on the list because we booked online. Glad they answered the phone after hours and were able to confirm the early afternoon online booking and get us a site.

We enjoyed our stay at the one room cabins, very clean. When booking the reservation, the lady on the phone was super helpful in getting us booked and making sure we knew where we would be going for our late check in. Bathrooms and showers were very clean! Thanks for a great stay!

We arrived in the evening and the office was closed. I called Brian and he was so helpful and quick to check us in so we could get out of the cold. The park is so well maintained and you can tell they take great pride in the park and the KOA name. Great place to stay for a night or site see the covered bridges.
