Kathy and John gave the most welcoming welcome when we checked in. We have stayed at a lot of KOA but none ever had a staff half as cheerful and pleasant and they were.

The camp hosts were top notch, especially John and Janny. Always ready to help. Facilities were also very good. Highly recommend this KOA.

EXCELLENT service, communication, and sites. We have stayed at hundreds of KOA's and this one ranks up at the top. All staff are very friendly and personable. Great food too. A+ KOA.

Very friendly folks. Facilities were well maintained. Quiet, except for the thunderstorm that came through our first night. Great point to start from on your sightseeing of the caves, Rushmore and Crazy Horse and Custer State Park.

The staff are super awesome and the place was immaculate. The washrooms and showers were warm and very clean. We would love to consider a job like this at some point in the future.

Staff was very pleasant, we used the kitchen they had onsite, that was helpful after a long day. Camp was well kept and clean.

Very clean site with hot meals available. Guides take you to your site and stay until you're satisfied with your position. Tour-guide advise provided by the staff was invaluable as we saw everything we wanted to see in the surrounding area from the comfort of a mini-van with only my wife and I on-board. The staff was very friendly. They are responsible (in part) for our allegiance to the KOA.

This has got to be one of the best KOA's yet. It is immaculate, the spaces are wide, the people are the nicest we have come across thus far. We are VIP members so we stay in lots of KOA's and I highly recommend this one. We didn't want to leave! We will definitely stay here again!

Stayed at Custer KOA for 5 nights and appreciated it a lot. The bathhouse was clean & large enough, tho we didn't use it so can't comment on the water. It was a quiet place; we were early in the season so there were no crowds. This place has been recently sold; restaurant was the best part of the deal. Their cook/waitress (Teresa) is fantastic--very friendly & accommodating and a GREAT cook!!

The bathrooms connected to the main building were not up to any KOA Holiday standard. They were filthy.

It was a good campground close to the many popular attractions in the area but not so close to them that we were overwhelmed with the tourist crowds, traffic and noise. Very nice patio sites and a laundry room where all washers and dryers actually worked! Good customer service and very well maintained.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Custer KOA. We were there for 15 days, and each day was great. We had site #200 which was very spacious with a large concrete pad, 2 water taps, electric and sewer. It was easy in/ easy out. Our hosts were very kind and helpful. The guests at the campground were all very pleasant. Quiet time begins at 10 pm and no one abused this regulation. We will return soon.

Super well maintained and helpful staff. Campground built on hill so sites not totally level but not a big issue. Distance from attractions very good and town of Custer has restaurants, etc. nice stay!

What a great KOA and location. Mt Rushmore, Hill city 1880 train, Crazy Horse, Jewel Cave, Custer State Park and much more. We spent 6 nights and still did not see everything in the area. Great bike trails also. We have plans to return in the future.

The campground and our site was clean. We used the laundry and showers they were both well maintained. We look forward to returning in the spring when we resume our jobs in Yellowstone NP.

This KOA was the best KOA we've ever stayed in. What made the difference for us was the staff. They went out of their way to provide the best customer service we've experienced at any campground in our travels. The icing on the cake for us was when the gentleman delivered our firewood to us in his pajamas. Having said that, it wasn't for the wonderful attire, it was that he did this with a smile even though we had not arrived back to the campground until well after the office was closed and it was already dark. This KOA is beautiful and has all the amenities that a traveller could ask for. It is located within a half hour drive of so many of the attractions in the area. We'll be back and we're hoping to have the same gracious and friendly staff to greet us again.

Our 2nd time camping here! Loved it 2 years ago & just as much this time! We splurged for a patio site this time & it did not disappoint. Nice, comfortable sites, clean restrooms & laundry area, well-kept grounds, super friendly & helpful staff (Special thanks to John & Janny, who were amazing!). Beautiful location & positioned perfectly to easily explore so much of what the Black Hills has to offer. Nice to be able to come back to your campsite after a fun day of exploration & be able to relax comfortably outside with a nice fire (some of the KOAs where we stayed on this trip, simply did not have enough room between sites to do that comfortably). We certainly hope to return...love this area & this KOA is one of favorite campgrounds in the US!
