Campground Reviews

Adequate for an overnight; we wish the park would lay down more gravel and level the sites. When you’re staying in a journey, you really want a quick In-and-Out, not to have to break out leveling blocks.

Needs a lot of attention and work, bathrooms hadn't been cleaned for days, out of toilet paper etc. pool a health hazard I'm sure, so murky couldn't see bottom, tenters rolled in late after we went to bed, set up 5 feet from us and made noise past 1 am when finally fell asleep with ear plugs, sorry to say, don't mean to be rude but when get a survey and are asked I gotta be honest, worst KOA ever

Grounds were uncared for and bathrooms were dirty.

Arrived at 8:45 for our stay in a cabin, found our paperwork but no key, or instructions, office only open 10-12 and 3-5. Cabin was unlocked. Did not enjoy the old mattresses, or the ancient bathrooms. No soap in dispenser, shower floors gross with paint peeling under old mats. No warm water to be found, doors did not shut completely.

We arrived with some problems. They accommodated us & were friendly in the process.

Owner was friendly and we had the pull through sites we wanted. We stayed two nights. The sites were mostly level gravel. There were trees for shade. The covered patio had comfortable chairs and people seemed to enjoy gathering there and chatting with other park guests. Every evening and morning a quirky neighbor plays a recording of the National Anthem at sunset, and revele at 9 am.

The cabin was nice but the bathrooms and showers are too old and dirty. Expected much better conditions for a KOA

A very relaxed and peaceful campground. Not much shade. We stayed 2 nights to visit Craters of the Moon NP. Near the ‘centre’ of Arco with enough opportunities to hace breakfast or dinner.

The KOA, near Craters of the Moon Nat'l Monument, is an option for RVers passing through. We rented a KOA trailer, which was billed as a "glamping" alternative. It had basic kitchen items (no towel or sponge) & a bathroom (no hand soap). The toilet was unusable due to an overpowering sewage odor when flushed; it could also be smelled outside. We reported it; problem wasn't fixed. Grill was dirty.

Loved this facility. Staff are great. Homemade waffles in the morning were such an unexpected treat. Clean bathrooms. Clean laundry room. Nice tent site. The weirdness on the other side of the fence? Just adds to the story. Bugles, pledge of allegiance, national anthem…all strange but harmless. Actually all of this served to help us to meet and bond with our fellow tent campers. Good experience

Great place. Nice folks that host are very helpful. wide open and spacious

The hosts were wonderful. I was sad waffles for breakfast ended on Labor Day, but oh well. All the facilities were clean, including the pool. I wish there was more to do because after you visit Craters of the Moon there is nothing to do. The town of Arco is pretty dismal.

Everything was clean. Workers were helpful and friendly. The only problem we had was a couple from California that let their little dog run loose causing our dogs to bark & try to get out of the camper because the dog kept coming over to our door. Yelled at the dog & she called it back but continued to let it run loose which caused a headache for us. Very well kept campground.

I loved the food service. Great fried cod and fries! Yum! The water also was the best!

The camp hosts were friendly, and the site was pretty clean. The squishy mats in the shower were kind of gross, but you should be wearing shower shoes anyway and you’ll be fine. The dog park is pretty dusty, so that was a little disappointing. The MAGA guy….honestly I thought it was hilarious and me and my neighbor campers were anxiously awaiting the sunset national anthem. I thought it was

Work campers were great! So many nice things for the kids.

The host and hostess were very friendly. It was quiet and all guests were nice. The only negative thing I could say is I would have liked more grass or trees.

Nice staff. Near locations we wanted to visit.

This place is well-located for a visit to Craters of the Moon (an otherworldly place). The facilities were clean and the people were very nice. Don't hesitate.

It was lovely. We enjoyed the cabin and wished we’d spent more time there. Huckleberries! YUM!

Friendly staff, great location for visiting Craters of the Moon. The free coffee and waffles in the morning is a great amenity!

Shabby place in a shabby neighborhood. Dog area was mostly dirt with a few weeds and a decrepit wooden fence. We were asked to change sites because of septic system issues. We were parked next to a couple of schoolies. I like schoolies, but these were not the nice kind. Then there's the homeless camp next-door that plays reverie at 9 am each day. Not exactly picturesque.

The KOA is in need of some upkeep . The heat this summer has wilted much of the grass, adding more rock to the roads could help with the weeds and dirt, the pool was so dirty and murky that I wouldn’t think to even put my feet in it. The camp hosts were very sweet and took time to chat with us. There was good space between sites & the free morning waffles were delicious and appreciated!

Old resort not kept up very well. They did serve complimentary breakfast.

This was not what we were expecting as per the description. Grounds not well kept, hose broken next to us spraying most of time there. Run down areas where apparently people live.

Great small KOA stop while moving through Idaho! Local Pickles restaurant great for some breakfast! Everyone was very kind and we would stay again!

Our stay was quiet and uneventful. It was slightly unnerving with the 9:00am revelry and reciting of the oath of allegiance by the neighbours.
Aug 27, 2024
Park needs some updating not a lot of greenery. Trees needed trimming at the site I was in. There was a situation with the sewer system as well and was told could move. After a couple of days it was somewhat fixed but maybe not a hundred percent. Pool was ok but crowded every day with locals so didn’t use it but once. Not sure if I would stay again or recommend for someone to stay here.

Clean bathrooms, shady site. Good location to visit the national park.

Surrounding are is noisy, some maintenance lacking.

It was a nice park. Little off the road. The host was very friendly. Dog park was ok.

Nice place to camp. Very friendly staff.
Aug 25, 2024
Nice. The sites are spaced out well with green grass. The pool was warm and clean. They had an ice cream social every evening. They also had great free waffles in the morning. The employees were friendly and welcoming. The only downside is that the wacko MAGA guy that owns the property next door (with junk school busses) plays the national anthem every sunset and a bugle at 9:00am daily. Nuts!

All is well

Smaller, older kampground, but staff was friendly, store well stocked and there is a pool. Great proximity to Craters of the Moon. Would suggest grass get more water at the sites and more gravel to keep sites level.

Hosts were super friendly, campground well maintained.
Aug 22, 2024
Staff was nice and friendly. Had voted of the mountains. Could see both sunrise and sunset.
Aug 22, 2024
Campground was not clean, trash in some of the fire rings. Office smelled like old, old grease. Showers were not very clean and had no amenities (bench for shower items, soap). My husband had to clean the toilet seat before he could sit on it. Campground in a sketchy looking location. We did not even stay after seeing all this. Very disappointing for a KOA
Aug 21, 2024
Friendly staff, the waffles were a special treat every morning!
Aug 21, 2024
Campground is outdated, needs renovation/upgrades. Gravel pad relatively level. Very friendly hosts showed interest in the campers' needs. Good community feel. Water pressure nearly unusable the first day, so we used our fresh water holding tank & pump. Mgr said it's an agricultural area, and when farmers water their crops the pressure drops. Improved the next day. Bathrooms need deep cleaning.

Love the waffles, ice cream and store!! Play ground too! Pool too!

We enjoyed our stay at this KOA. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. The pool area, showers and restrooms are very clean. Our site was spacious and quite. The campground is close to the Crater of the Moon park.

Only 20 minutes from the Craters of the Moon national park we found a peaceful, clean and well managed RV park. RV sites were spacious with full hookups, strong cell phone reception (T-Mobile and AT&T) for those not using Starlink, comfy laundry room, and even an on-site golf simulator facility. Conan was kind and helpful
