Meet Your Hosts

Welcome one and all!!

Alan and Barbara would love to welcome you to the Craters of the Moon/Arco KOA. We are located 20 miles from the National Historical Site of "Craters of the Moon National Monument and Refuge. We are also 18 miles from Idaho National Laboratory, the world's first nuclear reactor, and its free museum. Thanks to all our fabulous campers last season, we enjoyed sharing our campground and lives with each and every camper we were fortunate enough to meet in 2023. We look forward to an exciting 2024 season filled with great new relationships with you as our campers and friends. After several improvements and great suggestions from our campers, we are excited to get the 2024 season started. You will find new bathroom fixtures and many other improvements. Next year, we will continue the ice cream social.

Alan and Barbara are both retired from the U.S. Army. They enjoy fishing and golf, love outdoor activities and enjoy everything that camping has to offer.

Craters of the Moon/ Arco KOA is family-oriented, family-based and pet-friendly. The area is the "Off Road Capitol of the West." It is great for ATVs, with access to 100s of miles of off-road trails right from the park, rock hounds, cross-country skiing and star gazing.

Thank you for considering our campground, and the Zimmer family looks forward to meeting you and sharing our campground on your next trip.

Oh My, There's Nothing Here!

That doesn't mean this area has to always be empty. When you start reviewing camping options, your history will display here to help compare sites and find the best stay. You will be able to share your stay information with friends or family and save it for a later time if you have a KOA Account.
