(January 29, 2019) As the U.S. Travel Association celebrates today as National Plan a Vacation Day, Mark & Karla Lemoine, Owners and Managing Partners of the Coloma/St. Joseph KOA Holiday, commemorate the day by showing that they are at it again with the announcement of the addition of three Luxury Tent Sites this coming season, and proving that camping does not mean “roughing it!”
Karla's eyes light up as she points out these tents will be a perfect, romantic get-a-way for couples, or a fun time for families/friends up to four persons. They will feature a walkway to a raised platform with a canvas tent structure. Inside, these glamorous camping (aka “glamping”) retreats will be nicely appointed with a queen bed, futon couch, two rocking chairs, lighting, a mini-fridge, heat, and air conditioning. Outside, your walkway will lead you to your own picnic table, Weber gas grill and paved patio space to relax by your enhanced fire experience.
“These sites will be an exciting option for our guests who are looking for a unique camping experience,” said Mark. “To complete the “glamping” feel, guests will also enjoy our other amenities such as free Wi-Fi, heated in-ground pool and hot tub, and the on-site Café including our Hunt Brothers pizza Shoppe with delivery right to your site,” he added.
These new Luxury “Glamping” Tent sites will be ready for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. While Old Man Winter still has a grip on Michigan's Great Southwest, your mental health can be improved with the anticipation of warmer temperatures. Reservations can be made immediately online or by giving us a call.
(December 13, 2018) - During the annual Holiday & Business Recognition Dinner, the Coloma/Watervliet Chamber of Commerce presented the Coloma/St. Joseph KOA Holiday with the 2018 Community Investment Award.
"It's amazing to see what God can do through us, when we push beyond our fears and just trust Him," said Mark Lemoine. "We are honored to receive this award and share the recognition with our amazing staff for all their hard work and dedication to our guests."
The Chamber board presented the award highlighting not only their investment in the physical property of the campground, but their promotion of other area businesses, and engagement in the broader community as a whole.
Mark and Karla Lemoine, Owners & Managing Partners, received the award and were joined by two of their four children, Caitie and Charis, who are familiar to many as they too fashion a KOA yellow shirt and do their part to serve guests.
(November 11, 2018) WE DID IT.... AGAIN!!! For the second year in a row we are honored to receive the duo of KOA's premier achievement, the Founder's Award and the President's Award for providing the highest quality camping facilities while exceeding guest's expectations. Thanks to our staff for all their hard work and to our guests who place their confidence in our hospitality and express their satisfaction through our stellar reviews
Mark and Karla Lemoine, Owners and Managing Partners, will be recognized for these awards during KOA's 2018 Convention in Fort Worth, Texas on November 14.
(October 16, 2018) With two full seasons under their belt, there's still no sign of slowing down. Following their Halloween Harvest and Second Annual Chili Cook-off on October 12-14, the staff and owners of the Coloma/St. Joseph KOA Holiday bid farewell to their final guests for the 2018 camping season following another record year.
"Our first full season in 2017 eclipsed all previous years, and 2018 was stronger yet," said Mark Lemoine, Owner and Managing Partner. "It's a privilege to have hosted more than 11,300 guests from all over the United States and from 15 international countries this year with time together with their family and friends while growing our small business right here in Michigan's Great southwest!"
Shifting into the "off-season," they also announced their ongoing rehabilitation projects will include: (1) Converting 13 previous water/electric tent sites into 30amp RV sites; (2) Renovating and modernizing restroom facilities at both the main building and their family-style restrooms; (3) Upgrading the interior of five pet-friendly rustic cabins; and (4) Adding games and amenities that will compliment their "Pocket Park," a concept that provides recreational gathering spaces and entertainment within their campground in addition to the camp sites.
"As avid campers ourselves, we just keep doing what comes naturally to us," said Karla Lemoine, Mark's better half, and also Owner and Managing Partner. "While we look forward to enjoying some downtime of our own over the next six months, we plan to stay busy getting ready for next year in order to continue to meet and exceed our guest's experience by improving our infrastructure, accommodations and amenities."
(July 20, 2018) The Coloma/St. Joseph KOA Holiday is pleased to announce they are the recipient of a TripAdvisor 2018 Certificate of Excellence award. Since 2011, the Certificate of Excellence honors hospitality businesses that deliver consistently great service across the world. This designation is presented to approximately 7% of total businesses on TripAdvisor that have consistently achieved great reviews over the past year.
"We are honored by TripAdvisor's recognition, and even more pleased in the confidence our guests have placed in our hospitality," said Mark and Karla Lemoine, owners and managing partners. "In the world of social media, TripAdvisor is one of the top resources for unbias, 'word-of-mouth' recommendations," they added.
Having purchased the campground in August of 2016 with an existing TripAdvisor profile, the Lemoines quickly improved their ratings by bringing a new level of guest service, amenities and capital improvements to the campground. They give credit to their great staff for meeting and exceeding our guest's expectations, and are appreciative of their guests who more often go out of their way to offer praise for the exceptional experience they received.
It's true that it is better to give than it is to receive. However, there are times when a giver feels they receive more than they gave - such is the case here. In the heart of southwest Michigan, The Chapel, an Evangelical Free church, ministers to young people who have questions about God and what the Bible says through the discussion of all sorts of issues we find in our world today. We're happy to support their efforts as a business partner, and are pleased to provide summer employment and volunteer opportunities to some of their students.
We love camping and believe no child should be deprived of the experience when life throws them a curve ball. Kids Care Camp is KOA's official charity and provides kids who are battling cancer with a special camping event. Proceeds from our Friday night ice cream socials, holiday pancake breakfasts, and BIG weekend support this cause.
It takes a team to encourage thousands. We are pleased to be a business partner with WCSG radio as they offer family friendly, commercial free, adult contemporary music and teaching programs. Listener-supported WCSG is part of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is now heard on five frequencies throughout western Michigan, including 89.9 FM in Benton Harbor.
