Chincoteague Island KOA COVID-19 Safe Procedures

As the situation around Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we are sharing some of our best practices and actively making the necessary changes to our protocols to ensure we are adhering to our guest expectations. As always, the safety, security, and health of our guests and team members is of the utmost importance and our highest priority.

Check-In & Check-Out Time

Check-In : 4 p.m.
Check-Out: 11 a.m.
Early check-ins are subject to availability. We do not allow early check-ins for Accommodations
If you request a late check out a fee will be applied.

Cancellation Policy - RV & Tent Sites

If your reservation is canceled more than 48 hours prior to your arrival date all but $10 of your deposit will be refunded. If you cancel your reservation less than 48 hours prior to your arrival date you are subject to a cancellation fee of the first night's stay plus tax. 

For sites booked on holiday dates if your reservation is canceled more than 14 days prior to your arrival date all but $10 of your deposit will be refunded. If you cancel your reservation less than 14 days prior to your arrival date you are subject to a cancellation fee of the first night's stay plus tax.

Cancellation Policy - Accommodations/Lodging

Deluxe Cabins, Bungalows, RV Rentals and Safari Tents: on regular dates, 7 Days cancellation notice is required.

Deluxe Cabins, Bungalows, RV Rentals and Safari Tents cancellation notice on Holiday dates is required 30 days prior to the arrival date.

If you need to cancel your reservation, you must call the campground before the deadlines listed to receive your deposit refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee.
Holiday date cancellations are minus a $20 cancellation fee. **WE ARE WAIVING ALL $10 CANCELLATION FEES FOR ANY RESERVATION THAT IS CANCELLED NOW THROUGH JUNE 1ST.

Text and email notifications of cancellations are not acceptable. Not calling to cancel/no show will result in forfeiture of the entire deposit.

Cancellation Policy - Groups

If your reservation is canceled 30 days prior to your arrival, you will receive a full refund, less a $20 change fee per reservation. If you cancel your reservation within 29 days prior to your arrival, all deposits paid will be consumed as your cancellation fee and your reservation will be released.

Deposit Policy

The standard deposit for all campground reservations is the first night's stay plus tax at the time of booking.

Resort Fee

There will be a Resort Fee of $ 4.99 plus tax per day added to your reservation.
KOA Resort Fee includes:
*Shuttle Service 
*24-Hour Security
*Firewood & Ice delivery during stay
*Maui Jack's pass discount
*Professionally planned activities for the whole family
*Live entertainment regularly scheduled throughout the season

Golf Carts

Guests are permitted to bring their own golf cart for a fee of $10 per day. 
All guests must complete a golf cart waiver when renting a golf cart.
Seasonal guests may bring their own golf cart for no additional charge. 
Virginia law requires all motor vehicles, including golf carts, be operated by a licensed driver.

Occupant Policy

A maximum of six occupants are permitted per RV site.
The maximum number of occupants on an accommodation site cannot exceed the maximum number of guests the unit can sleep.

Pet Policy

A copy of the rabies certification is required to be provided at the time of check in. All guest will be required to sign a pet agreement.
RV Sites: There is no limit to the number of pets allowed on RV sites. There is no pet fee charged for pets on RV sites.
Accommodations: A maximum of two pets per pet-friendly accommodation per night are allowed. A $ 30  pet fee will be applied to all reservations.

Visitor Policy

Visitors are welcome but must pay a $10 per person fee and cannot exceed the maximum number of occupants per site.
 Campers are responsible for their visitors and all visitors must leave the campground by 10 p.m. on the day they are visiting.

Firewood

Firewood is available on-site at our Camp Store.  We will deliver firewood to your site.

Late Arrivals

If you have a reservation and you arrive when the office is closed, we will leave a map and your guest guide with your last name and site number with our 24-hour security guard. If you are arriving late with no reservation you will need to fill out an envelope with a $100 deposit. Please come in the office between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. to finish your registration.

Quiet Hours

Quiet hours are from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily.

Vehicles

One vehicle is included in the site fee. One extra vehicle may be parked on your site for an additional fee of $10 per day.
All vehicles must have a valid state license plate and parking pass from the front desk upon check-in.
We do not allow motorized scooters or any kind of three- or four-wheel ATVs or UTVs.

Off Peak Season Hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Daily
In Season Summer Hours:8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Daily

Pool Hours

Peak Season Open Daily: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Trolley Hours

Due to COVID-19 Social Distancing guidelines, this service is temporarily not available.

Blue Water Hospitality owns and operates Chincoteague Island KOA. The Ocean City, Maryland-based company, was founded in 2002 by father and son team, Jack and Todd Burbage, and specializes in hospitality properties.
