Meet Your Hosts
Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without even realizing it! Hebrews 13:2The Nelsons grew up camping. Their families best vacation memories involve camping and a KOA campground seemed a perfect fit for them. Mary Jo and Dave bought their first KOA in 2000 in northern Wisconsin. After selling it, they found out that retirement wasn't for them and started looking for another KOA. In 2008 they purchased the Cheyenne KOA. Since Dave and Mary Jo first started camping they always seemed to prefer heading to the west; the great open spaces and the Rocky Mountains appealed to them. The Cheyenne KOA was the perfect place. Since we are primarily an overnight campground, most of our guests only stay a few days or less. We are proud to host campers from all 50 states and many, many international travelers every year. Now, we are pleased to have our 2 children, Alex (and Jessica) Nelson and Lydia (and Darryn Yakel) take over the management of the campground.
