I was looking forward to enjoying the sauna :) the website says there is a sauna but in real life there isn't :). also, the propane fire pits were not allowed by the pool bc of the fire ban, but it's surrounded by cement, enclosed and it's the same ide as people cooking on their own portable propane grills, so that's really dumb if you really think about that. other than that, the place is nice.

Customer service and personnel was top knotch. Deluxe cabin was cute but smelt horrible. Would recommend an upgraded cabin maybe, but there was none available for us to switch to. Enjoyed the river and the place was nice. I just don't recommend the cabin we stayed in.

The stay it self was nice. We come up once a year. This year was the one that we had the most problems. The cabin had issues with incomplete work such as the closet, the shower backed up every time, and there were roaches. Normally we don’t have issues when we come.

The cabin was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Bathhouse was also clean at all times. Very Quiet no loud noises at night.

I liked the different accommodations as my group had people in a camper, a standard cabin, and a more deluxe cabin. We got to select what fit best for us. I found the bathrooms lacking as they didn’t appear to be cleaned during the few days I stayed there.

Rented a different cabin style this time. It was smaller that the one we booked last time. Child liked the bunk beds. I will not book this style cabin again. Too small, hard to move about, store items. Also needs a screen door or storm door.

Our cabin (L246) smelled heavily of cigarette smoke (we had to open the door and windows for about 2 hours to air the cabin out it was so bad) and there was hair on the comforter in the front bedroom. I did speak with someone when we checked out who said that someone would call me to let me know what could be done to compensate but I haven't heard anything as of now.

Facilities were nice but the bathroom was disgusting. The smell of old urine hit you in the face as soon as you opened the door. It appeared it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks or months as old urine was caked in the urinals. I drove home with no shower just to avoid going in there my last morning.

Ate up With BEDBUGS our bedding has bugs now and had to throw everything out! Know bedbug issue but i didn’t read reviews first thought it was mosquito bites until found bug in our bedding after leaving!

The only thing to mention is that the bathrooms didn't receive any maintenance during our stay, including no soap, things like that. Otherwise the staff and stay was good.

We stayed in a Deluxe cabin #506. It was a very cute cabin, however not clean at all. Dusty, cobwebs, bugs, dirt on the window sils. definately didnt have a "clean" feel at all. The coach was torn up. It might be time to upgrade a bit. We came with our entire family. We booked two deluxe cabins and two campsites. I would rate it 5 stars except the bathhouses were absolutely disgusting and one soap dispenser was out for 2 days before being filled. It seemed like the employees just rode around on golf carts rather than actually doing anything. Other than that we do love the campground itself and all the activities available

Really enjoyed meeting all the friendly staff two ladies at front desk who answered all my questions and really enjoyed talking breifly with Mr. Willie and Mrs. Bonnie i had a great experience and will plan to return for a stay every year moving forward The place was very clean and comfortable and exceeded our expectations.

We usually camp but decided to try a cabin for a short weekend stay. We come at least twice a year. Very disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin 237. 4 adults in deluxe 2 bedroom on the creek. Great cabin. Had everything we needed including shampoo, body wash, conditioner, make up wipes, hair dryer! Linens were all there. Dog dishes. Great patio furniture. Very clean. Definitely returning.

An amazing time as always. I usually stay in a tent when I visit but went with a camping cabin this time and it was more than I hoped for. Every time I visit the Cherokee area I always (and will continue to) stay at KOA. Looking forward to next time! -Bryan

Cabin (16): lock did not work, cabin not clean, restrooms: there was toothpaste in the sink for 3 days, toiletpaper almost gone after 3 days, so no cleaning in 3 days. Also mold everywhere on ceilings and walls, disgusting! Before arriving I saw some bedbug rapports and discussed it with the manager, she told us they are not bedbugs but batbugs, but bloodstains are on the beds. will not come back.

We have stayed at this location many times, and stayed in the cabins many times, the cabins are usually very clean. This time it was not as clean, the propane for the grill was empty, the air conditioner was very dirty and needs to be cleaned out and there was a musty smell in the cabin from the main air conditioner. It just seems as if something is different now.

A great place to stay. We originally decided to do a campsite. But changed our mind and decided to get a cabin. They accommodated our needs. We rode our motorcycle from Virginia. Rode the Cherohala skyway and the Smokie mountains. They really went out of their way for Halloween! Great service. Great area. We will be back !

Good campground. We were in a camp cabin by the river and really enjoyed the view. The bath house could have been cleaner and better kept t and needs a upgrade.

The cabin was not clean when we arrived (messy floor, a muddy footprint on the couch, dirty toilet). We don't expect immaculate while glamping but the issues were unsanitary. The facilities were great. The staff were kind and helpful. Halloween activities were a highlight! My son was there on his "wish trip" and it was everything he asked for...relaxing, swimming, campfires, etc. THANK YOU!

It was hard to get anyone to answer the phone. We needed extra toliet paper and there was no body gel in the dispensors. We asked at the front desk but was told they needed to put it in writing. We never got it. The cabin we were in needed some updating .. the lights on the bedframe did not work on both beds and the shower curtain was nasty. Other than that it was good.

This is a great KOA and camping spot in general! The staff were extremely helpful from pre-arrival to late check-in, and all onsite needs once we were there. We rented a deluxe cabin which was well appointed. The location is just far enough out of downtown Cherokee to be quiet and serene yet just a few minutes drive and you're right at the Oconolufte visitor's center in GSMNP. We requested help with getting a cooking grill grate added to our campfire ring and not only did the office staff kindly request it, but it was already swapped out by the time we walked back to our cabin.

The staff was very pleasant and the facilities were maintained well. There are plenty of things to entertain the kids with onsite, the fishing was good and location provided nice views. We definitely had a great time and certainly plan on returning!
