26’ TT, site 9 - nice outside pull through facing woods. Weekday, 3 nights, very quiet. Friendly staff, good location for Shenandoah NP & Blue Ridge Parkway. Strange location for pump out, big rig would block driveway. Access road from Rt 29 a narrow nightmare of hairpin turns with speeding morons over the centerline, enter from Rt 20 end of Red Hill Rd.

The entire campground lost power and no one came to tell us about what was going on. This went on for hours. We were on the last day of a 14 day road trip and this was the most expensive campground out of 10 places we stayed, and we had the worst service in terms of wifi, communication, and power. It was so humid and muggy we had to leave early. Wish they would have offered a discount.

Extremely nice but smaller campground. Pool was clean but paint looked unappealing. My only complaint is the firewood was pre-packaged kiln dried wood that burned well but because most of it was small and burned up very quickly. It was difficult to get an established base to cook on. Could not find firewood for sale nearby either.

Power went out, but not campgrounds fault. People working there were great. Only thing that was of issue was iron in water, but wasn't horrible, very good campground.

The campground is not being maintained. The worst part was the lack of a clean pool. The pool did not look like it had been cleaned all year. It was slimy and green and actually looked dangerous to even get into.

Tight campsites with little grass. Game room air hockey quit after 3 goals. Pin ball machine broken. Bounce pad was really dirty. Pool was in bad shape. It was a long way from the campground.

Nice campground. Could use some weed trimming especially around pool. Cable tv didn’t work. We enjoyed our stay.

When we booked our stay for 6 people, website indicated site could hold 6, however in order to book we had to drop number to 4 not knowing that we would have to pay for 2 additional people since booking site did not say that. Once we got things figured out with KOA we now know how to handle more than 4 in future.

The parking was unusual but had a nice space. The sites could use a little clean up attention. Showers were good. Dog park and nature walk were lacking. Wasn’t a bad stay but not quite a holiday location,

We were very disappointed in the condition of the campground. Very unappealing....weeds everywhere...did not appear cared for at all.The signage was non existent. We have stayed in many KOAs and most always have a good experience but in all the years of KOA visits this site was the most disappointing and uninviting. We only stayed one night and were happy to be on our way. Please cleanup!!

This particular KOA needs some grounds work. The landscape is over grown and needs some attention. The wilderness hike around the property needs to have better clearance with some gravel on path for active guests. Landscape around the lake is overgrown which makes it hard to see and possibly fish if applicable. The staff was wonderful and super helpful with check-in.

Used as a base camp to visit Shenandoah National Park and Appomattox National Historical Park. Great showers - very clean and spacious. Would stay here again if in the area.

Campground is very convenient to most of the Charlottesville activities and sites. The sites are a little tight, but we were very satisfied with the pull thru for our 35 ft fifth wheel. It was level enough to only require a small amount of adjustments. Wifi was adequate. Would have been good for them to accept AMEX.

Staff was VERY helpful with making the reservation and giving us advice on the best route to take to get there. We even received a callback to make sure we knew the best route, so I assume another route that a GPS might use may be less friendly to larger vehicles. My only complaint was that the reserved site was not very level, which is something I expect from a KOA site more often than others.

We had booked for 2 nights, due to a change of plans, we had to leave early on the 2nd night. Without us asking they credited us back for the 2nd night, only, charging us for a late check out. This was a pleasant surprise, and excellent customer service.

We had a great 3 night stay. Wish the gameroom had more games for grandkids to play ages 3 to 6. The bouncer needed a good cleaning.. everything else was great! We will be back!

Very nice, clean, well maintained KOA. We stayed in a pull through where smaller trailers and cabs were, it was wooded with spectacular trees and quite private. There was an area that was very nice for bigger rigs. Dog yard was small but clean and nice. Bathrooms were very nice. Poison ivy all around so be careful.

This KOA is off the beaten path which was nice as it was quiet and remote. The folks that run it are a nice family. They are putting a lot of work into it with the addition of several new sites. Nothing fancy to speak of here, but was a great stay for seeing the Charlottesville area. The road in is two lane and a bit winding but our duelly and 39' fifth wheel made it just fine. Be advised there is bridge construction on a google route that is narrow and tight turn. The office advised us of how to avoid it. Happy trails.

We had a two day stay here in early April. The bathroom facilities were immaculately, clean, and private. My kids state that this was the best campground they've ever stayed at. The staff was extremely thorough and friendly. Prices at the general store were excellent. They also have a propane filling station, which is a nice plus. Would definitely recommend and give five stars. PS. There is an awesome nature, hike and pet trail.
