The pros: The bathrooms were phenomenally clean. The pool table worked. The cons: The coin machine would take $1 bills only and give you anywhere from 0.50C to 0.75C in change which made doing laundry challenging. Most everything there for kids was broken or missing. The swing set was ready to crack in half with rust, the air hockey machine ($) was missing pucks, the tetherball was detached.

Nothing really outstanding about this campground for paying $70 a night. Plus they need to do some trimming of their trees on their sites. We had a tree limb catch our awning when pulling out of our site which broke our awning head! Never had a problem like that anywhere else before. Wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here.

Although our stay was for only 2 nights, the office was very helpful. The grounds were very well kept. It's a little tricky entering and exiting the grounds from a very curvy highway. We enjoy KOA for their dog park.

Very clean bathrooms, excellent greeting and service. Sites nice and graveled. Could have used a little TLC on power washing of jump pad and recreational area. In there defense it is off season and still cold. Pulling in is a little confusing but a simple All RVS this way would help. All in all I would go back many times.

Quiet and great location. We stay there often!

Very clean campground. Appreciated the staff's assistance with our late arrival (unplanned). They allowed us to set up at our site and check-in the day following. Also received an escort to our site. This was quite helpful given that we were tired, it was dark, and we were not familiar with the campground. The nature walk was nice.

We enjoyed our stay and this location is very central to everywhere we wanted to go in the region. It would be nice if there was a little more room between the sites. Like many KOA campgrounds, it felt like we were on top of our neighbors and their utilities, right outside your front door. A little extra green space would not hurt.

Site was roomy and level. Water pressure was horrible in which we found a leak that the spigot. The game room only had 2 games, the pool is over grown with weeds and not working. The fishing pond is over grown and so mucky that u pull in weeds with each cast, it's almost impossible to get to the fishing spot because of overgrowth and down trees. The park needs alot of tlc and updating.

Small but convenient location to Monticello. Beautiful are. Campsite had plenty of room and we were able to level the motorhome easily. Would stay there again if we were to return to Charlottsville.

We loved the campground. It was so quiet. The Charlottesville location was less than a hundred miles from our home. The office staff was very friendly. The only negative would be we only had forty pounds of water pressure. There ware three campers in our group, and all three units were experienced the same problem. Just something to work on. Thanks Happy Campers!

The showers/bathrooms were very clean and brand new. The campsite was super cute (#9) with water/electric/sewer and even cable TV! We faced a beautiful wooded ravine. Great job!

Beautiful small campground tucked into the woodlands. We loved how quiet it was. We had a drive through deluxe patio site that overlooked a little valley and woodlands. Friendly staff. Clean sites and facilities. Even though we had a heavy downpour one evening and next day, the campground roads and sites did not flood or get bug puddles. lose to Charlottesville and a lot of wineries and breweries.

The location is great for exploring Charlottesville and UVA. Our site was perfect for our pop-up. The bathrooms were very well kept and this was greatly appreciated! It would be nice to see some expansion of the playground, especially during months when the pool is not open.

Told not to park on grass so we park on the gravel. Told to move car because they use gravel area to grow grass. Every time we have stayed at Charlottesville there has been a issue of some kind. The staff(a young lady) always has a problem. We are currently looking for another campground in the area for our apple picking trip maybe Misty Mountain.

the sites were ok but not much to do at campgrounds. We like a little more space.

Very quiet, very clean restrooms, friendly staff, large sites! We really loved this natural setting with a walking trail, lots of space, and dog friendliness. Only one complaint: leaving the campground, you are turning into a blind, downhill curve! Another camper said he was almost hit head-on as he exited the campground. There needs to signage with warnings on that highway! Be safe.

Very friendly! Clean facilities with updated bathrooms and hot showers!! Visited Grand Caverns, Monticello, and Beautiful Walnut Grove Park that has great hiking trails! All within reasonable distance to the KOA! We had an awesome time!

We’ve stayed at this KOA more than any other. We love the facilities, staff and location.

Great bathrooms!!! Cabin was well kept. We were planning on fishing but it was quite a walk and no real open space to fish from. The trail was nice though. Very nice quiet campground.

We loved our stay here. We camped here with another couple with kids and they were able to put us next to each other because I called ahead to ask and they followed through. The sites are spacious, well shaded, and the hookups were conveniently placed and worked perfectly. The woman at the front desk was courteous and helpful, and the campground is quiet. It's also in a great location.

Quite campground and great location if you staying for a couple of nights or just passing thru.

Very quiet and peaceful visit.

Nice long sites, flat, gravel. Good power, water, and cable. Quiet campgrounds with beautiful trees. Wifi is very slow with multiple dropouts in the evening.

This was our first time parking in a turnout instead of a pull-through. It was actually better than the standard pull-through as there was more distance between campsites. We are still having issues getting our rig leveled (no matter the campground). Fall foliage was beautiful and we had excellent weather the last three days of our stay. The bathhouse was the best we have encountered.

Peaceful campground. Close to all the historic sites and wineries!

We had 2 nights there, the park was fairly empty. Did use the laundry area, which was very clean. The grounds were very nice and the other amenities were good. Good location to get to Monticello.

We enjoyed the stay. Quiet. A little far out and the entrance exit had a blind corner coming at you fairly fast.

Love camping here. Scenic and peaceful. Ashley is efficient and helpful.

We much enjoyed our stay at this rather remote KOA. Very quiet as it was far from I64. Sites (we were at #32) spaced a good bit apart. Very close to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello which made visiting there easy.

Very nice, clean, well maintained KOA. We stayed in a pull through where smaller trailers and cabs were, it was wooded with spectacular trees and quite private. There was an area that was very nice for bigger rigs. Dog yard was small but clean and nice. Bathrooms were very nice. Poison ivy all around so be careful.

This KOA is off the beaten path which was nice as it was quiet and remote. The folks that run it are a nice family. They are putting a lot of work into it with the addition of several new sites. Nothing fancy to speak of here, but was a great stay for seeing the Charlottesville area. The road in is two lane and a bit winding but our duelly and 39' fifth wheel made it just fine. Be advised there is bridge construction on a google route that is narrow and tight turn. The office advised us of how to avoid it. Happy trails.

We had a two day stay here in early April. The bathroom facilities were immaculately, clean, and private. My kids state that this was the best campground they've ever stayed at. The staff was extremely thorough and friendly. Prices at the general store were excellent. They also have a propane filling station, which is a nice plus. Would definitely recommend and give five stars. PS. There is an awesome nature, hike and pet trail.
