Cedar Livestock Heritage Festival
Iron County has rich and inspiring history which is worth celebrating. Fall is a very special time of the year, for it means the harvesting of crops and the trailing of livestock from the high mountain ranges to the desert for winter, which is a yearly tradition. May we never forget the people, animals and resources that built such a great community and legacy.
We are very pleased and proud that once again they will parade the herd of sheep down Main Street and be celebrated for all they represent. The first sheep were herded up from town to Cedar Mountain in 1870, and every year since then they have made the trek from the mountain to the valley making their way through Cedar City. Join us for the great celebration!
Utah Mountain Bike Racing Championships
The Utah High School Cycling League, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, was organized in 2011 and is an affiliate league of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association. We facilitate the development of interscholastic cycling teams/clubs for grades 7 – 12 and provide the education, training, licensing and insurance for coaches and volunteers. We also provide a high-quality mountain bike racing experience that emphasizes the value of each participant (no one is benched), camaraderie among peers, a positive sporting behavior and the cultivation of health over competition.
Storybook Cavalcade Children's Parade
With the chill in the air and the changing leaves, the annual Storybook Cavalcade Children's Parade will be in town to announce the unofficial start of the holiday season. This event will be the first time most children will have to get their first glimpse of Santa Claus and to see floats of all different kinds, marching bands from around the area, and giant helium balloons. There are going to be many more new costumes on display for all to see, including your favorite super heroes and other storybook celebrities. Come celebrate the season with us at the parade on Cedar City's Historic Main Street.

National Parks - Free Entry
National parks are America's best idea, and there are more than 400 parks available to everyone, every day, with many just minutes from Cedar City, Utah. The fee-free days provide a great opportunity to visit a new place or an old favorite, especially one of the national parks that normally charge an entrance fee. The others are free all the time. The entrance fee waiver for fee-free days does not cover amenity or user fees for activities such as camping, boat launches, transportation, or special tours.
