Every Thursday starting June 1, 2018 is Pirate Day! Join us for a day of treasure hunts, games and more. Don't forget to wear your pirate attire! Meet with Billy Bones and ride the pirate train for more fun! No quarter, no mercy!
Bring a piece of your trip home with you: Make a t-shirt, backpack or pillowcase at 3pm every Saturday starting June 3, 2018. Your tie-dyed t-shirt will be a wearable memento from your vacation. With a demonstration and all supplies provided ($), this retro activity satisfies campers of all ages. Remember, there is no right or wrong way to tie dye!
When the sun goes down, campfire time begins. Gather around our newly recreated fire pit and get acquainted with fellow campers. Campfire time promises all the classics: toasting marshmallows, eating s'mores, belting out camp tunes during sing-a-longs. We've even been known to swap a scary story or two!
Join the Summershiners for interactive live entertainment at the outdoor stage. From talent shows to slapstick to game show re-creations, this weekly event relies on camper participation. With your involvement, it's never the same show twice! Great family entertainment! (Available during Peak Season)
Join every Wednesday at our outdoor cinema, it is like a drive-in movie without the car. You can enjoy a family-oriented film under the stars. Grab your blanket and stock up on your favorite movie snacks at our camp store - you wouldn't want to run out of popcorn! Sit back, get comfortable and enjoy the show.
At KOA, we strive to offer something for every member of your family. Which is why we're pleased to announce our new interactive dog park! Lose the leash and let your dog run wild across manicured lawns, free within our fenced play land designed exclusively for canines.
Some of the best fishing on the East Coast is found along the 130 miles of accessible beach. You can fish from one of eight piers located between Kitty Hawk and Hatteras Island. Sound fishing is popular along the short bridge on the Nags Head-Manteo Causeway or the Washington Baum bridge. Offshore fishing is offered at marinas located on the Nags Head-Manteo Causeway, Roanoke Island, Oregon Inlet and on Hatteras Island. Or, if you prefer, directly off our beach!
Often dubbed the "Windsurfing Capital of the World" steady winds and shallow sounds provides windsurfing opportunities during the spring, summer and fall. Outfitters are located throughout the area providing lessons, clinics, equipment rental and purchase.
