Meet Your Hosts

The Soehnlen Family

There are all kinds of things to see and do here!”

Leo and Carol Soehnlen's restaurant created a need for a different kind of amenity-a KOA campground. They purchased a church camp in 1968 that hosted the restaurant and many family activities, and soon realized they needed a place for visitors to stay. This prompted Leo and Carol to build cabins, cottages, and RV sites, thus creating their KOA campground. "We developed the campground into a family recreational facility," said Carol.

One endearing quality of the campground is its close proximity to many tourist attractions. Area attractions include world's largest Amish community, chocolate factory tours, the McKinley Memorial, Lehman's Hardware, as well as the most popular, "National Pro Football Hall of Fame," added Carol.

Customer service is very important to Leo and Carol, and they attempt to influence their employees to think the same. "We encourage our employees to go out of their way to find the answer to any problems that arise. If they don't know the answer, they find someone who does," said Carol.

The couple has ten grandchildren they enjoy spending time with. Carol also enjoys cooking, landscaping, and singing and because the campground is open year-round, Leo spends much of his time working.

Oh My, There's Nothing Here!

That doesn't mean this area has to always be empty. When you start reviewing camping options, your history will display here to help compare sites and find the best stay. You will be able to share your stay information with friends or family and save it for a later time if you have a KOA Account.
