ONLY 400 CHARACTERS!?! This was the most accommodating KAO I've ever stayed at. The quality of customer service I received was second to none. Due to the weather, we needed to rent the village hall for my family. They were able to immediately accommodate this request. Thank you, thank you, thank you! There was so much to do here and the staff was an absolute dream team! Y'all are the best!!!!!!!!!

That was my first KOA stay and it's also my last. The 'spot' was advertised as 'tree lined' with a patio. It was a tiny strip of pavement, soggy muddy grass/weeds, no patio as advertised and with roads on three sides. That stay alone has put me off KOA. There are many other places with far better amenities that cost less. No thank you KOA.

very quiet, even though hwy 101 above campground. Great that South fork, Eel river runs behind the campground. good mix of cabins, RV sites. would definitely stay next time in area.

The Employees are Awsome n always there to help if needed. Don’t forget to go to the Inn 1 night at least to eat �� �ϋ�

The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The sites are clean and can be a little muddy but that is to be expected during the rainy season. The facilities are very clean. It’s a great campground.

If you stay at the Premium sites, you’ll have solid hookups and a clean pad. The rest of this grand old park needs a lot of love (updating). Due to rains, muddy & landscaping, not just mowing, needed. This beautiful setting is worth the effort.

Nice location, good base for visiting some Redwoods. We was missing the hot tub, closed due to out of season. Nice and freindly staff.

We stayed for one night but would definitely utilize this place in the future. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms and showers and laundry too! It was quiet with the river muting most of the traffic and human activity.

Power went out and on all night— called for help and no one came or called back—our site was muddy and tight—guess it was the wrong time of year to go RV-

Kind and helpful staff. Bathrooms were clean, the clubhouse was a great place to go on our rainy day. Great location.

The park was quite and clean, the facilities were nice, the young lady at the front desk was awesome! My kids and I enjoyed playing some pool and arcade games in the lodge

It was very good. I particularly liked that I was easily able to adjust the length of my stay ahead of time with no hassle through a quick phone call.

We looked at the site map and chose to pay extra for the premium. It appeared that the sites would overlook the river which they would have had there not been so much brush blocking the view. A concrete pad also comes with the premium which was important to us because we knew there was a chance of rain that weekend. We ended up having to lay a pad due to the very long ungroomed grass and mud.

Love this campground! The trees need trimming. A little better selection for larger rigs, we couldn’t pull into our site.

We stayed “off season” so the park was virtually empty except for some long term campers. We were placed apart from other campers, which was nice. Sites are level, pull thru so easy in and out. Staff very friendly, loved that reasonably priced postcards were available as well as other merchandise specific to the area.

Clerks were helpful, friendly, & cheerful. I used the laundry facilities and found them clean and the washers and dryers worked just fine. Loved the asphalt paved streets and paved campsites with concrete patios with tables and chairs. Streets had paved gutters to carry off the rainwater. Nice grassy areas at each site with flowering trees.

I was staying one night but had to turn back due to snow farther south. The manager was very nice and accommodating as I didn't know when I'd be able to head back north due to weather; I'd cancelled my trip south by this point. She gave me an open reservation until I felt comfortable leaving. I'll remember her kindness to me during a very stressful situation for a long time. Thanks much.

Nice campground. The utilities post looked like it needed some help, tv cables all over the place. Considering the location we were very glad to be there.

Very nice clean property ,well stocked groceries and friendly people work there. My wife bought a few treasures there. We will be back again to stay.

No electricity but paid full rate. Restrooms and showers at far end were locked but we were not told and walked down there at night in the rain.

Glad you were able to stay safe out there. This was the largest winter snow event in our area in 35 years! As discussed on the phone, I have Fully Refunded your stay due to the power being out from the massive storm. Hope you can visit again in better conditions. Be well. -Justin

Stay was good it would be nice if the hot tub worked. We have stayed here a lot and the hot has been broken for probably a year. We are hoping the splash pad will be fixed this summer it has not been in full operation for 2 plus years and we are always told they are waiting for parts.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for visiting. We have experienced Drought Conditions the last few years, which caused us to have to close our Splash Pad due to water restrictions. We hope this winter rain lessens that this season! Our Hot Tub unfortunately had the Motor go bad, and will be replaced this week.

It was a great place for us to stay en route to our vacation destination. They were proactive about moving us to a different site, contacting us the day before that they would like to move us to a site closer to the front bathroom since the other bathroom was being worked on. The showers were great - much appreciated!

Location and service are very good. The sites are a little old, unlevel, narrow and typically muddy this time of year. I've stayed there at least 15 times and will return.

Nice store and friendly greeting. Our site (95) was very difficult to get into even though it is a pull thru. Also it was very un-level and muddy. Ok for a quick overnight.

It was a short overnight stay on the bank of the river. The campground wasn’t busy but the folks there were friendly. The property appeared well cared for and the pool hot tub area was being readied for the new season ahead.

We stayed at the Benbow KOA for spring break 2024. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Check-in was a breeze. Since it was Easter weekend, the campground staff hosted an egg hunt for the kids with an appearance from the Easter Bunny. It was pretty awesome! We stayed in a FHU “comfort” patio site 52, with relatives staying in Tent Site T1, right across the road from our site. The RV site required minimal leveling and all hookups were well maintained. The site included patio furniture and a fire pit. The patio was nice since the grass was muddy from all the winter rain. The showers and bathrooms appeared clean and maintained. The hot tub was open, but it was too early in the season for the pool and splash pad. The laundry room was large and had newer machines. The gift shop had all the essentials for RVers and guests. There is also 2 arcade games, a Star Wars pinball machine and pool table in the lounge area of the front office. They have a small library of books and board games, dice and dominoes to use. The dog park area is on the smaller side, but there are some great pet walk areas around the resort. There is also a small 9 hole golf course next to the KOA. The WiFi was good and able to stream. The cable was not so good due to limited channels and fuzz (could have been my fault). The historic Benbow Inn across the way was a nice surprise with good food options, a full bar and traditional afternoon tea. It's a short walk on a nice path or you can drive there. We were within a few freeway exits of the Avenue of the Giants and a lot of other famous trees and redwood groves in the area. One exit away, in Garberville, there is a supermarket called Ray's Food Place and an awesome Mexican restaurant called El Cora Restaurant. There are fuel options in Garberville as well. I would definitely recommend Benbow KOA to others.

We arrived just before 8:00 p.m. with no reservations and we're greeted by Chloe and Juan who attended to our every need. Thank you for hiring the best. They are definitely an asset to your company. We so enjoyed our time there even though it was real short. Thank you again for your hospitality. You were amazing! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend your campground to anyone traveling
