Awful showers (black mold), pool was nice but don't expect much with the so called splash park. The golf course (if you can call it that) was suppose to be $10 but then you add a cart because you will need it and its closer to $50 on a course that is terrible. Be prepared for very bad cell phone service and internet also. And when you ask them about anything they will say yes we know and that's it

Clean, well laid out, big clean laundry room, really nice bike or walking trails. Can’t go in the river due to algae but still beautiful. Friendly staff.

I love this KOA. The staff is super friendly and always seem to go out of their way to accommodate my needs. My wife and I have a great time golfing here and they are definitely working hard to get it back up to par. When we don't feel like cooking, the Benbow Inn is just a short walk away. The inn has a great bar menu as does the main dining room.

Needs maintenance work and updating. The bathrooms need deep cleaning & better lighting. By the way, there’s no internet at this KOA. Not suitable for a working nomad.

I don't usually comment on KOAs because they are all great places to stay. However, this KOA went above and beyond. We sideswiped a tree on the way there and did considerable damage to the RV. Tina and the other lady who checked us in were WONDERFUL!! Knowing that we would have issues getting in and out they upgraded our site. The golf and hot tub were also excellent. Best KOA ever!! Thank you!

We camp almost exclusively KOA for the last 5yrs. The grounds, views and surrounding places were beautiful. I did not like that most of the other residents were long term and looked like it. I just didn’t get a great overall vibe. It was the first place I wouldn’t let our girls roam and play freely with a walkie talkie. Just my observation and my husband agreed.

Great place. Perfect for a day off the road. Nice walk to the magnificent Banbow inn. Swiming pool and hot tub. Club house with tv. The only missing thing is communication. Very poor cellular reception (TMibile) and almost zero receprion in the camp wifi. I don't understand how wifi seems secondary in most rv parks.

Premium spot we had not worth the price we paid and the flies were horrible and being right next to the freeway was terrible. Had they stated this from the start wouldn't have bothered.

Golf course is not being maintained, lowered the price to golf but price of cart was higher! WiFi is terrible, could pay for better but at $80 and $90 a night that should be included Saw numerous workers driving carts around the park off and on all day and never saw them working on anything. All employees were very nice and polite but overall was overpriced.

Nice setting, though close to noisy 101. Very friendly staff, nice facilities. Hot tub warm but dirty and jets haven't worked most of the season.

The staff was friendly, the park was clean, and we really enjoyed its location. Quick on and off to the Avenue of the Giants. Walk to Benbow Inn for dinner. We will definitely come back.

Beautiful location & friendly staff. Unfortunately, that doesn't make up for the terrible Wi-Fi & Verizon cell service. Would have stayed longer had we not needed to drive to Garberville when we needed to get some work done. And while they have no control over this problem, they warn you that if you let your dog go into the adjacent Eel River, it will die within 10 minutes from toxic algae!

The RV hookups are easy to use. Pet walk is a great green pathway for the pups hot feet. Staff were super friendly and informative about the river.

Lovely campground! We wanted a peaceful evening but some very rude people didn’t let that happen. They had very loud music with the bass turned up very high. It boomed away for several hours & we had no peace at all. Then there was loud screaming & laughing from young adults going back & forth from this cabin. Was not pleasant to listen to when all you wanted was a relaxing evening.

We enjoyed our stay and would have liked to have stayed longer if the internet was better since I have to use it for work if we stay longer than 3 days. Unfortunately we couldn’t. The grounds are kept up great and the staff is very friendly. We will recommend to anyone not needing the internet! Thanks for the great stay

I really love staying at Benbow KOA. I enjoyed my recent stay at Benbow KOA. Just a couple of things… Jacuzzi was out of service, I was told I had space 36B but accually I was suppose to be in space 35, the grassy areas were dead and brown, and most of the shower stall benches were missing.

Late night noise control was not enforced, our neighbors were partying till after midnight keeping us awake. Our than that our stay was great, employees were very helpful.

This KOA was amazing! The sites are spacious and the amenities are numerous. We enjoyed riding our bikes around the area and even to Garberville. Having the Benbow Inn close by to enjoy cocktails in the afternoon topped the perfect experience.

We had a lovely stay. My only complaint is we traveled with 2 other families who made reservations after us and requested that our sites be near one another and this did not happen. It would be nice to be able to pick our sites so we could have all could have been close. We will be back though as we enjoyed the stay and the location.

When we arrived our patio was covered in dirt and mud and our picnic table also the hot tub still isn’t working and the splash pad only has one jet that works sometimes this has been going on for two years I find it hard to believe you’re waiting for parts people ride motorcycles around kids on motorized scooters loud music at the pool it looks like it’s turning into a trailer park

We stayed at the Benbow KOA for spring break 2024. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Check-in was a breeze. Since it was Easter weekend, the campground staff hosted an egg hunt for the kids with an appearance from the Easter Bunny. It was pretty awesome! We stayed in a FHU “comfort” patio site 52, with relatives staying in Tent Site T1, right across the road from our site. The RV site required minimal leveling and all hookups were well maintained. The site included patio furniture and a fire pit. The patio was nice since the grass was muddy from all the winter rain. The showers and bathrooms appeared clean and maintained. The hot tub was open, but it was too early in the season for the pool and splash pad. The laundry room was large and had newer machines. The gift shop had all the essentials for RVers and guests. There is also 2 arcade games, a Star Wars pinball machine and pool table in the lounge area of the front office. They have a small library of books and board games, dice and dominoes to use. The dog park area is on the smaller side, but there are some great pet walk areas around the resort. There is also a small 9 hole golf course next to the KOA. The WiFi was good and able to stream. The cable was not so good due to limited channels and fuzz (could have been my fault). The historic Benbow Inn across the way was a nice surprise with good food options, a full bar and traditional afternoon tea. It's a short walk on a nice path or you can drive there. We were within a few freeway exits of the Avenue of the Giants and a lot of other famous trees and redwood groves in the area. One exit away, in Garberville, there is a supermarket called Ray's Food Place and an awesome Mexican restaurant called El Cora Restaurant. There are fuel options in Garberville as well. I would definitely recommend Benbow KOA to others.

We arrived just before 8:00 p.m. with no reservations and we're greeted by Chloe and Juan who attended to our every need. Thank you for hiring the best. They are definitely an asset to your company. We so enjoyed our time there even though it was real short. Thank you again for your hospitality. You were amazing! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend your campground to anyone traveling
