We always wanted to come here and enjoyed spending the extra night with our KOA gift of a free night. A very good family-based KOA.

We've stayed at Benbow KOA many times. The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, there are problems with the campground itself. There are no firepits or barbeques at any of the sites, except the premium sites. The latches in the bathrooms. I have found that other KOA campgrounds offer firepits, ect. plus working bathrooms.

Clean courteous and enjoyable even during a pandemic. Took common sense precautions but still allow people to be human and enjoy their time camping. Facilities were spotless. Staff were always friendly

So much fun. The general store needs to be updated and stocked though. That’s the only thing that is lacking in the koa.

Stayed there 7 nights this time and it was awsome! The grounds are beautiful, staff is friendly and weather is perfect!

Why are you sending me this in Spanish? I don’t speak Spanish. As far as the koa goes. You really need to have them remove the fact that they have a golf course. We went there to play golf. It is 100% the worst golf course (if you can even call it that) I’ve ever played. No care or maintenance whatsoever. Staff is great and facility is nice. Too many full time residents there tho.

Very pleasant campground with golf course, pool, cabins, dog run . Walking to historic inn.

Nice location near the Avenue of the Giants redwoods as well as the road leading to Shelter Cove. Campground was clean. Wi Fi was less than Wonderful.

Grass was all dead. Sprinklers don’t work. Not kepted up. Nice couple that checked us in.

It was really nice and location is great.

We’ll be back

Beautiful little oasis of a campground. Friendly staff. Only wish they could have given us a spot not surrounded by other RVs, given how few people were staying there at the time.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Stayed here years ago when it was a good Sam Park and the campground an golf course was in pristine condition. It is not the same now. The golf course is in bad condition with unplayable greens. The lawn areas in the park are mostly dead and had to trim a tree to park My RV without scratching it. Inside the facilities were clean and orderly.

They did an exceptional job making us comfortable during a fire evacuation. Much appreciated!

The people at the desk need to understand RV’s the spot they gave me I could not get in so I had to stay in another spot. I have stayed in a lot Of nice parks this park does not warrant $82.00 a night I would never stay there again.

Very clean. Friendly staff & very caring during the emergency evacuation. I will be back to enjoy the redwoods.

Nice park; however, we got stranded there after being turned around at the Willits fire. Everything was smoky and covered in ash – not their fault. But we did not really get to enjoy the park because of that. Also – it was extremely expensive - $69. They have also charged me an additional $5, for what I don’t know. I now have to call and dispute that when I return from my vacation

Great stay, I just would like to have seen green lawn in our VIP site, it was dead.

Another great stay on Labor Day Weekend. The entire staff continue to be very friendly and helpful every time. We had a little power outage at our space. I went to the office for assistance. They had the Maintenance Man at my space within 5 minutes. Power was restored cause was undetermined. Fast Action by the Employees was AWESOME! We will be returning again. We found the perfect spot for our RV.

Enjoyed three days with my family in Benbow. Pool and campground was clean, and the staff was friendly. River was low, but there were some nice areas close by to swim, and fish in the river.

My wife and stayed at the KOA Benbow RV park from September 4th thru September 7th. The park was full except for perhaps a couple spots. While I really like our stay, if did have some issues with the park management controlling the "quite"time 10pm to 8am... The sire next to us partied every nite untill 11:30 to past midnight, and the KOA Night manager never said anything. Otherwise, it was good

The campsites were roomy, and plenty of them. All the staff was helpful and courteous. They have a good size kid water park but unfortunately due to stupid Covid it was not available at the time we went. We went Labor Day weekend and it was around 105°, luckily the pool was 55° so it evened out. Great place to stay with friends.

Great location and staff. This was our 5th time at this park this year but our first 4-star rating, after previous all 5-stars How to get back to 5-star? Water the grass. Site 92 grass dead and brown. Clean fire pit out...full of ashes and cigarette butts. Fix the golfing1 Internet. Previously worked OK, but not this time. Paid for the 101netlink, but it was also TERRIBLE. Please fix the internet

We have enjoyed coming to Benbow for years, but over the past year things have been a little off as new management are getting their footing. Camp sites are no longer lush and green like they used to be. Golf course needs some work, but is fun to play and reasonable price. More concerning is the lack of management enforcement on quiet hours people partying until 1 or 2 am nightly.

Nice campground with lots of shade and a creek nearby. Unfortunately the site I had was very small without a picnic table but still very nice.

We appreciated that the bathrooms and showers were open. The store area in the office was pretty sparse on supplies.
Sep 04, 2020
Golf course was in terrible condition you should not advertise having one.

The stay was excellent and the staff were extremely accommodating. The location was very good. Easy in and out of the property. Close to town for fill up. Very pleased. Foxes

we stayed 3 nights in late august. Went there to get away from the smoke of the LNU complex fires. The campground was neat and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Everything was delightful, with one tiny exception. The flies were awful!!! But we expect that was due to the wildfires, literally, around us. We've stayed at Benbow, before, and never had the fly problem. The renovations and upgrades being done in the campground look great. It's so nice to see things looking clean and well cared for. We'll be back!!!!

Tight turns with tree limbs leaving scratches down the side of our coach. Dead grass at our site. No fire ring. Minimal at best.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our park is older and harder for big rigs to move through. Sorry you were disappointed. Maybe we could have given you some of this information ahead of time so that you could have made a better decision about where to stay.

Paid for 50 amp site, assigned a 30 amp site. Inquired of mgr re the mix up and were promptly reassigned to proper site. Park has a restricted number of 50 amp sites we discovered.

Great location right off the freeway. was able to get a space with short notice. nice office/store. nice that the pool was open to use with restrictions. I asked the front desk if the pool was heated, I was told yes, but the pool was freezing and it was about 85 outside. The grass was all weeds , I guess water shortage during the summer. good that the hook ups were in one place.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

The pool is heated to 80 degrees. Irrigation problems are what have caused the dry grass and weeds. We have it fixed but until it cools off, we can't recover the grass. We will work on it though.
Aug 31, 2020
It would be nice if you trimmed some of the trees to ensure larger rigs can pull out of their spot without scraping limbs. Lanes are already tight and people tended to not always park in their designated area.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Good point. We will take a look at the tree branches. While we trim them at the beginning of the season, their continued growth may go unnoticed when we are busy.

Staff was very friendly. Site wasv level and roomy. Full hookups and great location near state park Just need more 50 appmp sites
Aug 30, 2020
Excellent as usual. This was our 4th stay!
Aug 30, 2020
We stayed for one night. The garbage cans were overflowing with trash. Lots of dog feces at the campground. The KOA staff members were not wearing masks (inside they were) but not outside when talking or approaching a guest. Very disappointed!
Aug 30, 2020
worst wf fi- meaning no wifi only i name, cancelled out the nice swimming pool

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Wifi is difficult and expensive in our area with the remoteness and the mountains. We do have a paid service available to our guests through a direct satellite provider for $5 per GB. The park wifi is easily overwhelmed with so many devices trying to connect in a busy park.

Very friendly staff. Had a great stay.
Aug 29, 2020
Just overnight. Park is in rough condition. Grass not being watered. Overpriced!!!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are sorry you were disappointed. Unfortunately, we lost our irrigation for a few weeks and by the time it was repaired and working well, the heat had been too much. We will do better.

Very busy this labor day weekend. Kids and parents alike all having a great time. Site 60 was long and level and had a great outdoor furniture setup. Golf course is sad.
