This was our first KOA stay ever. We didn't really know what to expect, but we really enjoyed the whole experience. The staff was courteous and helpful and the site was exactly what we needed. My wife had fun photographing the local wildlife and I enjoyed talking to the staff about their unique golf cart collection. The cafe delivery to our site was a completely unexpected bonus.

Wonderfully accommodating and friendly staff. Fabulous oasis in the middle of South Dakota! We have stayed before and will definitely stay again!!

I guess you can say this is a ok place for a overnight stay, it would have been nice if the store opened before 10:00.

Great people here. Nice cage too. Delicious pizza delivered! All facilities are nice. Lots of hot water for showers and good water pressure. Would definitely recommend. Wi-Fi works great too.

Smelled of sewage Bathrooms need updating We were the only unit w no a/c and was placed where there was no shade, at 88 degrees and brilliant sunshine.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

If you had informed the staff during your stay of your issue with your Air Conditioner we would have tried to provide a site with some available shade. We are located in the Grasslands and trees have a hard time prospering in this location.

The owners and their staff are very welcoming and accommodating. The food service is a plus. Had the baked spaghetti chicken parmesan and also the meatballs and garlic bread were very good.

Staff was excellent, but the campground needs much TLC.

Easy access from the freeway, but far enough to eliminate most of the noise. Great reception at check-in and nice office environment. The site was level, but the weeds were pretty abundant. Lots of birds which was nice.

Greeted by friendly staff member got us registered. Settled into our site. Ordered sandwiches from their Cafe. Very good. Clean restrooms. Nice place to stop for the night ez off I90.

Good electric power. Good water pressure. Level site. Above all, an excellent campground kitchen with delivery service. You can't beat that.

Owners and employee were very nice and helped us do the hook-up of our motor home. Made us a couple nice hamburgers and brought them right to our campsite.

Lisa was very helpful in giving us arrival instructions, as we were way behind schedule in our travels. It was great to know what to do beforehand. The campground was well maintained and quiet.

Charming hosts. Food ordered can be delivered to your camp site. Our order was hot and delicious. Dog park is grassy and all dog walking areas have stations with bags to clean up after Fido. Close to Interstate but still very quiet. Hardly heard any truck sound at all.

Fantastic campground with amazing hosts!! We had a bad experience at a hotel the night before coming here. Robert and Lisa set us up in a really nice cabin for half the price of the hotel, and we got a million times better the experience here!! Beautiful location, tons of wildlife and just down the street from a fun tourist attraction, 1880 Town. Will be staying with them again in the fall!!

Of the five or so KOA's along western South Dakota along I-90 this is your best choice especially if you are car/tent camping. Many of the campgrounds along I- 90 here are not much more than parking lots for RV's. We found this KOA superior in many ways. This WAS supposed to be our stop for the gateway to the Black Hills. Unfortunately, we ran out of daylight a 100 miles eastward. So we visited in the early morning before anyone was awake. It was mostly empty as we were in the very early part of the season but it was evident we had missed out on a great campground. We visited May 2023.

What a great overnight stay. The staff is exceptionally pleasant and helpful. They also serve dinner delivered to the RV...my wife is STILL raving about the spaghetti. 1880 Old Town in just down the road and well worth a visit.
