We had a wonderful time! ! It was our first stay . The staff was great and so accommodating! My grandkids had a blast playing in the bay. They utilized all the amenities. The South Bay KOA had a “ summer Camp” feel and was very family oriented. We will be back!

This is our second visit and it was Fantastic! The Bay was beautiful, the campground well kept. The host was awesome. The escort to her site he was pretty cool too! The neighbors were wonderful, offered to share their clams with us. It was quiet for the most part. Hearing the children play was very sweet as well. The trail down to the bay is incredibly steep, so take caution.

Very nice campground. We had a site in the back close to the beach. The steps to the beach are a bit steep, but worth it. Everyone working at the park was very friendly and helpful.

We had such a great time. Absolutely loved the movie in the yard and the kids really enjoyed the jump mat. The path to the beach was fun and easy. We will be staying there again. Only thing I wish all sites had the nice swing but that’s not a deal breaker. Can’t wait to go again

Always a calm and inviting stay. Staff was very nice and the whole venue is beautiful. This is our third stay and we plan to be back again.

Small rustic campground. Showers were fine, nothing special. Laundry room needed a lot of attention. We really enjoyed the path through the woods on to the beach. It was here we discovered searching for sea glass. Now we are hooked!

We were greeted by what appeared to be an aged and somewhat rundown facility. We shelved opinions until we had settled in. By looks of the office and store area things appeared to be a normal KOA. The negatives were many; rundown facilities, under staffed, and absentee owners planning bulldozer the forest to add versus upgrading existing, Unbelievable the awards displayed; KOA standards question!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We have been a KOA for over 30 years. We still have the original A-frame building that was standard years ago. Our staff works very hard to make everyones experience the best possible. After labor day, many staff move to winter locations, like must campgrounds. We work hard & are proud of our awards

This is a cute little campground on the Willapa Bay. Not too far from South Bend but far enough to feel like you’re out in the woods. There’s a nice trail that leads down to the bay for great clamming and beautiful sunsets. Plenty to do for kids and to just relax. Nice store and great management. I highly recommend this place.

Nice stay, clean site. Bay Center’s KOA no longer has the familiar friendly/social feel (activities, fundraisers, community bake sales, chowder cooking contests, etc). We’ve been coming for over 10yrs, several times each year and notice a significant change. It’s no longer our “go to” campground; there’s plans to build more sites in the back which will lose the cozy feel of a small cam

Sorry that the experience has changed. We do provide activities, Memorial Day through Labor Day. We would love to host the communtiy bake sales but the group that did this is no longer doing it. The sites we plan on adding are only a few, to address the demand we have of needing more sites.

4 night stay. Small family oriented campground with access to the bay. Warmly greeted by campground hosts. Our original site didn’t have sewer hookup and as luck would have it a new site just became available and we were able to get full hookups. They even ran cable tv to our trailer. And the most amazing part was all the deer every night around 5. There were 7 of them maybe 100 feet away!

Really liked staying here in motorhome. This koa is rustic and more rugged than most. We had a roomy site under the mature trees. Dennis was really nice. The ice cream for the social would highly suggest! Very good. Sorry I missed the wine and beer tasting! I bought two single beers from frig and were good. The park and restrooms were clean but the restrooms need a bit of updating. I’ll be back!

My response is based on a singular aspect of my stay, discussed with the manager, and concerns what I consider to be an immediate danger that has failed to gain management attention, that of a trail leading from the main camp through the woods to a steep point going down to the beach below, where the railing is broken and children could easily fall over the edge a great distance below.

Thank you for sharing this with us. We are aware that our stairs are steep. We are working with the county and other agencies to find a better solution that works for everyone.

We had a wonderful experience at the Bay Center/Willapa Bay KOA. The staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. It is nice that they send out daily texts with helpful information. The store is very well stocked with items both for camping and as souvenirs. They have a great playground for children and several different activities, jumping pad and panning for gems. We will return. Thank you

Very peaceful stay. The scenery is beyond compare at this location. Easy walk to the beach for clamming or relaxing and enjoying the views. Dennis was super helpful guiding us into our site. He even trimmed some of the trees so we could fit our 44' fifth wheel into the spot without any trees scraping the rig!

This was our 2 time staying at this location. We returned because of the beach and the cute gnomes all around, sadly we learned it was under in management and all the gnomes are gone. Also the beautiful forest surrounding the camp will be cut down to expand.

Great (but different) beach at end of campground trail. Nice clean restrooms, 24hr laundry (but no coin changer), nice little camp store and friendly staff. Am told an exterior facelift is in the works. A little pricey though, otherwise would’ve given 5 stars.

Steve was very friendly and helpful. The trail to the water was a pleasant walk until the stairway to the water, which felt more like a ladder going down! Some were enjoying the bay and were raking for clams. There are no restaurants or grocery stores nearby, other than a seafood market. The big disappointment was paying extra for patio that was at the rear of the pull thru so grass tracked in.

We will go back!! It's a very nice KOA, with really great owners and employees!! If you're a clammer, they provide your fork and bucket to use in Willapa Bay! If you have kids they have lots of activities!!

Excellent KOA campground. We truly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful setting, quiet evenings, and we appreciated seeing families and people of all ages in tents, RV's, yurts, and cabins enjoying this campground. Our site was a full hook-up RV site with trees, a fire ring and a full-size picnic table. Once parked, we found our site was perfectly level! We heartily recommend this KOA campground.

Great campground with relatively easy access to the beach. Will probably go back. Didn't like that we were put into a site without dump. There were plenty of empty sites with dump.

We would love to have you back. You were placed in a water/electric site because that is what you selected online. We would have happily got you into a full hook up site but there were none available for your entire stay. You would have had to move sites each night and expressed that was not ideal

The light in the women’s bathroom was apparently on a timer. I had to finish my shower in the near darkness!

Stayed overnight on 04/03/24 in a cabin with two kids, 8 &13. Super attentive and friendly hosts with on-site store and other amenities. Clam rakes, available for rental are completely worth it, as we caught our limits in about 30 minutes and enjoyed a luxury dinner in no time. It was our first time raking clams and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful with tips (over 15 years old need to get a license off-site). Cabin was cozy and clean. Had a fantastic time. We'll definitely be back.

We had a great time there, we were given a free upgrade to the deluxe cabin which made our stay even better! The camp hosts were super helpful when we realized we had left a couple thing's at home. The only downside was the store there not open during our stay but if we needed something like ice they got for us and the main bed was not comfortable and very slick to the point we each fell off at least once and my husband went and slept in the room with the bunk beds, plus our blankets kept falling on the floor.But having a bathroom and microwave in the room made itbworth it! we will definitely be back, we will plan it on a weekend when the store will be open and hopefully the weather will be better. Oh and the steamer clams were HUGE!😁

Great campsite and hosts! Everything was clean and well taken care of. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Nice access to the beach too. We will definitely be back.
