The owners were very nice & personable. The campground was clean & offered a variety of lodging options, a restaurant with delivery option to your campsite & cute ice cream shop. We stayed in a dome which was enjoyable & unique. There was a large variety of outdoor activities available on the property. As avid campers, we have stayed in many KOA campgrounds and this one did not disappoint!

Campground was very nice, happened to stay on a cold rainy weekend in June so that limited what we could do. Wish we could have enjoyed more of the amenities. Everyone was very nice and helpful.

The staff was friendly, the accommodations far exceeded my expectations, and the fun stuff for the kids to do made for a unique and enjoyable vacation! We will for sure be back and anytime someone asks for recommendations, this will be my top suggestion! The price, the food options were delicious (perk points for delivery to our site!) and the overall environment was very family friendly! 10/10!

Beat campground I’ve ever stayed at. The deluxe cabin was very clean and ready for us upon our arrival. Friendly staff and very prompt to ours needs. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great campground.

Owner hollered at my daughters friends coming to pick her up and look at some for possible future stay? My daughters friend got in her car and started crying. My daughter had to walk to site to get clothes.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

She entered the campground going through THREE stop signs saying all guests must come to the office to register. I met her at your dome & told her she needed to register & pay before entering. She came to the office but didn't want to pay for five guests. Your daughter met her in the parking lot.

My family and I had a wonderful time at this KOA. Our cabin was so nice and very cozy and clean and the owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. We hope to be able to go back again next year and maybe even stay for a longer stretch of time!

We had a fantastic time here and can’t wait to be able to come back again! There were so many fun activities going on and the campground is beautiful. The owners clearly go out of their way to make sure their campers are happy and having fun!

We rented a park home and it was very clean with all the kitchen stuff we needed and a large refrigerator too! Bed was super comfy. Staff was very kind and helpful.

Perfect location to explore Maine. The cabin was very clean and cozy, our kids loved the loft bedroom and the playground at the camp. Thank you for a great stay!

The deluxe cabin was perfect for our family of 5. Chris the owner and his team were fantastic. Everything was clean and we had no issues with the cabin. We would stay again.

Had a great couple days stay in a camper, very relaxing. I have been going to see the great folks at the Holden KOA for a few years, Chris always makes me feel welcome and appreciated. I try to go at least two or three times a year, renting the on site campers and my try a cabin next.

It was our first time staying at a KOA. Staff was very friendly and the site and facilities were clean. We had to leave before the office opened and were unsure about check out procedures, but we called the manager and they helped (sorry if I woke you up). I’ve already recommended the Holden KOA to our friends who saw our geodome pictures on Instagram. We’d stay at a KOA again for sure!

We stayed at the KOA for a weeklong stretch between house closings. It couldn't have been a better stay. The cabin had everything we needed and the staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful. The kids had a great time riding around, making friends, exploring the trails, eating ice cream and riding in the fire truck. We only wish we could have snagged the cabin for longer!

We were very impressed with the Bangor KOA staff. We arrived during a rain storm which caused it to be somewhat dark in the camper. Being only 5'3" I was unable to find the light selwitches on the ceiling lanps. When I called the office to ask where to find the switches, the lady I talked to did not know where they were, but personally came to the camper to help me to search for them.

Helpful frontdesk. Our geo dome was already setup with linens (paid) and directions were very clear. Bathrooms were basic but clean, and they were very close. The only issue we had was the noise from the nearby highway which had traffic througout the night. Otherwise, good place to stay.

We had a great time during our stay. We stayed for 5 days in a cabin. The cabin was clean and the campground was quiet. We enjoyed the weekend activities that the campground offered too. The food at the store/kitchen was really good. The owners were super nice and we enjoyed talking to them. Easy check in and easy check out.

We decided to stay in the cabin for Father's Day weekend with our 4 year old, and what a GREAT time we had!! The fire truck ride alone was worth it! Every staff member was happy, positive, and very helpful!! We will definitely be back! AND...the pizza from the Cafe is GREAT!!!

Everything was awesome! We enjoyed our cabin, the food options available, and the playground. Two things that could be better were that the provided coffee cups were too small for a standard cup of coffee and the main bedroom bed was very noisy. This made trying to be quiet as to not wake a toddler very difficult.

Very clean and friendly atmosphere! My kiddos love all the crafts and activities that are scheduled. When there is a problem or issue that you take to the owners they address it immediately!

Our deluxe cabin was nice and clean and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There was a really nice deck with plenty of seating for outdoor dining. Our boys really enjoyed the pool, playground, jump pad, and gemstone mining. The pizza was okay, but definitely convenient, especially having it delivered right to the campsite. We also enjoyed the ice cream stand.

Great KOA with all the normal amenities you would expect. The staff is super helpful, very friendly, and have great positive uplifting attitudes. When we first arrived, it rained pretty hard. We asked a neighbor if it had been raining a lot, and he said he had been here for 3 weeks and it hadn't stopped yet. We stayed for 2 weeks, and ended up with like 4 sunny days without rain. This meant that the entire campsite was pretty thoroughly flooded, and our entire yard had standing water with a nice big mud patch right at our front steps. It was so wet that the staff couldn't even mow until our second to last day, so the grass was getting pretty long and soggy. Despite all of the negative weather, the staff maintained their positive attitude, and did not cancel any of their fun events and activities. Even though the pool and bounce pad were out of commission, they more than made up for it with indoor crafts, events, and fun hangouts at the club house. The entrance is EXTREMELY tight. If you are towing a vehicle, I highly recommend you disconnect before pulling in. We did not, and we did not make it through the entrance either. Staff was once again super helpful in getting us unstuck, and gave us the time and space to maneuver safely, instead of rushing us out of the road like we have experienced at other camps, including some highly rated KOA's. The park store here is probably the biggest and most well stocked store we have seen in over a year, and the pizza, sandwiches, and ice cream are tasty and worth sampling. Jones Lobster Company right down the road really does have the BEST lobster rolls, and the best tasting lobster we had during our entire stay in Maine. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA in a Motorhome. Detracting 1 star due to the water becoming non-potable during our stay due to their septic overflowing into their well contaminating it with e coli.

Stayed here for the Summer 23 Season. Lance and his crew really worked hard all season upgrading the place and if you ever needed anything they were great. Disregard the negative old reviews from prior ownership. Would of signed up for next season but work isn't gonna have me up there.
