I am a southern gal, and I came to the Badlands/White River KOA in April. This is my first winter in South Dakota. We are currently on snow number 5, and 5 has been an eye-opener! It was the first time I have heard the term "frozen fog." I mean what is that??? Well, apparently it is composed of very cold tiny liquid droplets floating in the air. Who would have thought? And, it makes everything slick!
Then the TV meteorologist reports that people are complaining because he predicted 10-20 inches of snow and the measurable snow was about half that. The meteorologist said it was because the winds were 50 mph, and to hang on, the snow will blow into your yard and you will have 10-20 inches! There is no need to try and plow the snow from your driveway because - guess what??? The snow is blowing back over what you just plowed!!!
