If you have been following our Badlands/White River KOA page on Facebook, you will have seen now, snow number 4 here at the campground. Snow number 4 began on Friday, December 2 about 9:30 am. It snowed until about 4:00 pm. It was the light fluffily type of snow, which means I was able to brush it off the deck and steps with just a broom. The amazing part of this particular snow fall was that even though it was light and fluffy, and the temperatures that day and night never got above freezing, the day before the snow, we had a high of 57 degrees here in the Badlands. I just find that amazing, just like when I lived in South Carolina and Louisiana. South Dakota is such an amazing state, the weather can be so drastically different, not only from day to day, but mile to mile. My friend that lives 90 miles away in Rapid City, got 5 seconds of snow last week. Here in the Badlands it measured about 2 inches!
That doesn't mean this area has to always be empty. When you start reviewing camping options, your history will display here to help compare sites and find the best stay. You will be able to share your stay information with friends or family and save it for a later time if you have a KOA Account.
