Our 1st camping trip in our new camper. We loved the campsite; the people were very friendly, helpful and knowledgable of the area. The highway noise was not as bad as they felt it was (I would recommend a sound wall along the highway which would eliminate 90% of it) but it was not bothersome for us, at all. The campgrounds were very well maintained which is appreciated.

Another good stay! Thanks

Clean and neat. Easy access to the interstate. Thinking about coming again.

Outstanding. Staff wonderful and very helpful. A little dusty, but that is the way park was constructed. Enjoyed visiting with Spouse of staff member from around the Kansas City area. Bathrooms and showers, very clean and tidy. Really enjoyed our stay. Would stay there again without question.

Friendly staff, very close to hwy, everything worked

Very short overnight stay but we were impressed with the park. Very nice, would definitely stay again. One note- if your gps instructs you to get off on exit 236 DO NOT! Heading west on I40 you will get off on exit 232 per the KOA directory

This is the nicest KOA we’ve ever stayed at! Bathrooms were spotless. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We received the best care by the staff. Our needs exceeded normal levels because the size of our rig. While the campground is cozy and our coach with trailer did give us mobility challenges the team at this KOA did not flinch from the opportunity to help us fit right in. Awesome guys! We are blessed. Thanks and see you again. Minus the trailer.

Disappointed that there was little to no TV.

Nice facilities; fairly close to Asheville events

Great KOA!

Everything was good. But the driveway going out has really big potholes/messed up asphalt. I thought I had messed up my alignment when I hit one of the holes.
Oct 03, 2023
Too noisy! Our site was practically sitting on the highway. The very narrow pull through was so uneven, we had to park on the far right side for any hope of level, losing any chance for a campfire or use of the picnic table. Of course, there was so much highway noise, we couldn’t hear each other when we were outside.

Great spot while traveling on Interstate 40.

great stay and close to many things to do...

I reserved a pull thrufir my gmc truck and 20ft airstream The reservation asks for trailer length. No mention of trailer and truck length. As the campground was full, i was asked to unhitch. With 4000 miles behind us and 300 miles from home, unhitch was not in the plan. All KOAs ask for trailer length and not total combined length. The cleark in this KIA was very nice and apologetic.

The staff was outstanding! Overall our experience was great. However, our site (the upper level) was so uneven we had to put 6 blocks on our back end to be partially even. The park as a whole for location is great! Upper level is our favorite area. Parking is tight but doable. AT&T was the strongest internet signal for us. Super close to T/A for diesel fuel and quick access to I-40.

Overall great stay. The site (B25) was sloped such that we never completely got our camper level but the campground was very clean and well maintained. Someone in a golf cart led us to our site after we checked in... a nice touch. The location is near an interstate but the noise was not overly distracting.

Some of the friendliest staff we have experienced at any KOA!

Campground was very hilly, we were in site B14. Lady in the golf cart brought us in the wrong direction despite what the map said. It was very hard to back into our site. She brought in the couple next to us in a trailer and they ended up driving back to the office so they could go in the correct way. Very poor leadership

KOA’s are known for being the best of the best for campgrounds. This does not meet your standards. Asphalt coming and going driveway is cracked with ruts and pot holes, Go to the bath house and no soap in the men’s dispenser, lights go OFF while you are in there. Mine was an uneven gravel site with tires that had to be off the ground to be level.

Had a nice visit here. Staff was pleasant. Bathrooms good, but could use more ventilation in shower room! They were clean! Thank you. Would stay here again if in area, but not as close to bathrooms.

It met all our needs on a very long trip

Nice staff, way too much road noise.

The campground was very clean. private shower facilities and restroom were extremely clean. Our site was closest to the interstate and would recommend sites further in the campground..

Great representation of KOA

Very clean and well kept KOA campground. Friendly staff. I only have two concerns. The campsites are too close together and the laundry room only had two of four washing machines that were working.
Sep 28, 2023
Property nice and well maintained, nice amenities and very accommodating and friendly staff. The only downfall was the I40 traffic at night. I would definitely stay up top next time.

Everyone was friendly and the coffee was great!

This is one of the best KOAs we stayed. The staff was so friendly and informative. Everything was well-kept. Definitely recommend it.

Small campground. You have to pull in just right or you are a bit tilted. Nice bathrooms. Cute little store.

We just stayed 1 night but sites were very nice and staff were outstanding! Will recommend to friends and come back ourselves!

Smaller KOA with friendly staff. Sites are close. Facilities & grounds are well kept. This was a 1-night stay for us on the way home from a long trip. The biggest drawback to this campground is its extremely close proximity to I-40. The traffic noise is annoyingly loud - so much so that the office offers free ear plugs for those who want them.

Staff was friendly. We checked in after hours but information provided was awesome. We have camped here before in a cabin and a tent. This was the first time in a camper. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful!

We enjoyed our stay. Everyone was very nice and the campground was very clean and well maintained. The only negative was the noise from the interstate. It made it hard to get a good nights sleep. Unfortunately we can't move the interstate.

Would have been a five except: Weed eater dude next to our coach as we were packing to leave. Hole on right side and a pole on the left of the driveway as we were leaving made it a little tight for my 42’ fifthwheel.

This KOA is just off I40 west of Asheville. Follow the signs to the campground as the roads are narrow. Location is clean and well maintained.
Sep 24, 2023
Very noisy. Dirt no grass at our pull thru site. Friendly people but not where I would stay again. It was not close to very much
Sep 24, 2023
Interstate noise was unbelievable. You need to get a sound barrier wall. Cable was also poor. Could not lock in stations, would drift out. Reprogramming did not help.
Sep 23, 2023
People at the park are great and it is clean and well run. Just happens to be by a very noisy freeway
Sep 22, 2023
Nice clean campground with lots of trails and activities , and friendly staff. Was not able to select a specific site, unlike other privately owned or state campgrounds.

Great park and helpfull and friendly staff

Great KOA, the staff was very nice and helpful. The grounds were very nice and well maintained. However, you will hear noise from I-40 so be prepared.

Very friendly and clean...dog park is really nice and larger than some. Yes it's off of i40 but they will offer ear plugs etc. But it really wasn't much of a problem for us...

A lot of raid noise, but they tell you that up front. The camp was clean, the staff hard working and friendly! The sites need to be leveled better, but we were able to level using our blocks in our class A. They only have one dog park, and it's over where most of the long terms are ans if you are in the pull through up top its a long walk. They have a nice pool and nice trail around the camp. I'm not sure I would agree with it being called a holiday ( lack of amenities) but a good journey for a 2 day stay.

I was a tad nervous about the noise reading the reviews, but we did not have any issues with the traffic noise. This is a great jump off point to Asheville and close to anything you would need. The facilities were really well kept and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.
