Cabin was ideal for my son, myself and his baby. Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, son was acting as my "trail angel" this past weekend. Only objection: I booked cabin on line, then was told they were going to charge an extra $50 cleaning fee when the cabin already cost $195 (expensive) before taxes because we were only staying one night (not noted on website). Fee was waived:)

Terrible management

I wish we were told about the fire going through the campgrounds. It was a nice campground

The staff was very helpful and very understanding especially Jenny and Christy. We were displaced by the Lilac firestorm in San Diego county and needed temporary housing until other housing accommodations became available. Very calm and compassionate. We will and have let our friends know about Acton KOA. Thank you

Nice place, but right across from the railroad tracks. Trains overnight blow their horns multiple times as they pass by. Made sleeping difficult. Also, no cell signal for making calls. Even calls over Wi-Fi were choppy. Wi-Fi only worked decently if you were close to the office, which I was not.

This campground served its purpose for us. It was clean and basic. It was remote and not someplace I would come just to spend time unless I had a car.

Over charged me

The park we nice. However, we were sad that there was absolutely no activities for the kids, not even something indoors. We rode the bike track and all 9 kids tires became flat after 1 ride around due to all the stickers in their tires. We also had a bit of an altercation with campers across the way and their aggressive dog and saftey of all campers. We were threatened and told to watch our backs.

Wonderful staff, quiet, clean campground

Love this place I just wish there was a giant ground jumper and more cabins. Needs more activity for kids. Staff was really attentive and friendly. Looking forward to staying here again.

Too dusty. No internet on either occasion. Dog park very small. The same bag of dog poo was by the gazebo when we returned a week later.
Nov 27, 2017
We love the multiple kid activities and 99% of the staff is very friendly

Our stay at this particular KOA was absolutely wonderful! We planned on staying one week, but extended to two weeks, because we were having such a great time enjoying all the many festivities this park was offering their campers. The entire staff was amazing and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. What a pretty little park nestled in the canyon! We will definitely be back!

No tv, Laundry inadequate. Shower stinky!
Nov 18, 2017
The entire staff was very friendly & made us feel valued as appreciated guests. Christie, Stephanie, Carollyn, Maria, Alma, Jennifer, Joe, Bob & Victor seemed to go out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Christie even came over to say goodbye when she saw us preparing to leave. We would have rated 5 stars except we weren't able to use our private WiFi Hotspot or cell phone. We plan to return!

We enjoyed having you here!

Very pleasant. Provided you get used to the trains screaming through in the middle of the night. Howling coyotes was nice, though. Main gripe was that none of the hand dryers worked in the restrooms. Make sure you see "The Oak of Golden Dreams", at the park at the previous exit from the 14 freeway.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are in the process of upgrading our hand dryers. We hope you come camp with us again!

Not the nicest welcoming we’ve had. Felt we were bothering the attendant. Site a bit dirty. Bathroom was ok. Women’s mind you did not deliver hot water for shower.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. Thank you for letting us know about your concern, we apologize if our staff did not make you feel as welcome as they should have.

Checked in after 2:00 a.m. on 11/9/17. Very comfortable with the process, found campsite & parked travel trailer easily. Our trailer was winterized & didn’t have water so appreciated the bathrooms & laundry.

Great snack bar. Intermittent WiFi. No cell service. Staff was friendly. Landscaping is dirt, sand, dead or dying grass. RV spaces average size, but level with hook ups. Trains runs all night long so you may hear train whistle several times a night. Dog run was nice to have and good size. Bags and trash are provided. Unfortunately, there are some dog owners who don't clean up after their pets!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We aren't happy when people don't pick up their dog's deposits either! Our WiFi issue has been fixed and it's working all over the park now. Thanks for the nice comment about our staff, we love compliments!

Receptionist was very helpful and kind. The grounds assistant was very helpful and provided the propane firepit very promptly. The grounds were very clean, the restrooms were also clean, and there was warm water. #AWESOME. Pet friendly was a big plus as well.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for staying with us-come back soon!

Besides the fact the surrounding area is severely damaged by a wildfire, the maintenance is not very good either. The location is out of cell service being in a canyon. This is fine if they offer Wi-Fi. I was told two different stories about why it wasn’t working. I never saw the router they told me to access. Spigot leaked and was repaired half-way etc. Place needs some attention.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for letting us know about your experience. Unfortunately, during your stay we were having internet issues. We have replaced the defective equipment and the WiFi is now good.

I am impressed with the KOA campgrounds overall. The Acton location did not disappoint. The woman checking us in was more than helpful and friendly. I reserved online and asked for specific things (a view, privacy) and the site we were given had both. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 is because there was a good amount of litter surrounding the sites at the campground.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank You! We have advised our outside team members to check the sites for any trash left behind. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Staff was very friendly. However, the campground is very run down, all the games & playground equipment are falling apart. Dog feces were all over the campgrounds. There was a music festival going on and we were warned it would be noisy until about 10:30pm...the music was blaring until about 2am. I feel that the "rules" are not implemented here at all. I would not recommend or return to this KOA!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for the nice comment about our staff. We are sorry the music kept you from enjoying your stay. Our playground equipment is being refurbished over the winter and we hope you will come back again and see the improvements.

The owner has gone to great expense to receive and distribute WiFi by mounting dishes on two mountains to get WiFi to the remote location.
Oct 20, 2017
It was very pleasant and relaxing, just exactly what I had hoped for in a much needed escape from the city .
Oct 18, 2017
It was a place in the Mountain thats nice but everything is old and dirty. Terrible! The sites are not clean, you find some things from other campers.
Oct 16, 2017
It is hard to really rate it as we had arrived after 9pm and left at 8am. Pitch black but easy to find, close to amenities which were clean and tidy.
Oct 16, 2017
We have stayed in a lot of KOA campgrounds, and this is the only one we have been displeased with. We also paid more for this campground than any other we have stayed at. The Wifi poor at best, intermittent. No phone service, no tv channels. No paved areas. Wind blew sand around constantly. Power went off once. Laundromat was more expensive than any we had used before. Not a good experience!
Oct 15, 2017
Worst KOA i have ever seen. All sites are in the dirt. A train runs 24 hours a day right next to the site. Our site had virtually no WIFI.
Oct 13, 2017
Oct 12, 2017
Okay but very dusty! Also, I would recommend you put a chair in the accessible shower...no point in having one if the handicapped person cannot sit down. And the bench is too heavy to drag in.
Oct 11, 2017
Is the money not worth. No wifi, dumping was impossoble because the sewer was full

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We apologize for the sewer issue in your site. We hope you were able to dump your tanks in the site we suggested. We do have free wifi all through the park that is available to all of our guests.
Oct 10, 2017
Friendly and helpful staff. Restrooms close to the pool could have done with more frequent cleaning. I used the shower just after the cleaners had mopped the floors and cleaned the bathrooms and the cleaning seemed to have been very light touch. Shower cubicle walls needed better cleaning. Washbasins could have done with more frequent cleaning as well. Hand dryer did not always work.
Oct 10, 2017
Far away from everything.
Oct 10, 2017
I booked the wrong dates and when I tried to contact to change my dates I had no response, but I see you charged me any way....very poor service and I wont stay here for the dates I was trying to get...I am findig many privately own parks are much better quality and cheaper!!

We had a GREAT time at the Acton KOA with our Cub Scout pack. Our boys really enjoyed the pool and games. The adults appreciated the bathrooms and showers as other locations we've camped at only had port-a-potties. Overall, it was a great experience!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We are happy you camped with us and that your scouts had a great time!
