Salt Lake City KOAMeet Your Hosts The Salt Lake City KOA welcomes many returning campers, who enjoy the location and the staff who make their stay special. Vicky Orme and Doug Robinson are the campground managers, along with Don and Marlene Boothroyd, campground hosts, work with a dedicated team. They are currently finishing a 1,800 square-foot pavilion especially designed for large meeting groups, with on-site catering. They also built a brand new sports court, which offers basketball, badminton and hopscotch to accommodate all interests and ages. The campground provides on-site food catering. Nana's kitchen is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and she also caters for the large groups who enjoy the campground. The campground has many mature shade trees that provide a cool and comfortable environment, and full hook-ups include 50-amp service and free cable TV. Darren Menlove, managing partner of JJ-BAKD LLC, which owns the campground, said he and Brent, Jim and Kirk Menlove have owned the KOA for about 21 years. They are primarily involved in the investment real estate. "The quality of guests is what keeps us so interested," Menlove said of the KOA business. "I've always used the term that "Our guests are salt of the earth type people," he said. "It makes it fun to serve them." He added that they also enjoy the adventure and challenge in keeping up with the RV industry. "We're a full-service property," he added. "We keep adding more and more services. It's been necessary to upgrade all areas of utilities, from Internet service to cable TV service, phone services and WiFi coverage." Many of their campers stay at the Salt Lake City KOA because of its' proximity to the nearby Temple Square and the Family History Library. They also have many young families who enjoy weekend visits as well. The campground can accommodate any size rig. They also recently built an on-site RV wash, which accommodates "the biggest thing that will drive on the road." Come meet Vicky Orme and Doug Robinson, Campground Managers. |
