Valdosta / Lake Park KOAMeet Your Hosts It didn't take long for Valdosta/Lake Park KOA manager, Michelle Wheeler, to find herself an assistant manger. In fact, she's known him since the day he was born. Wheeler is shadowed each day by her "little manager," her son, Caleb. The six-year-old sports a nametag that says, "Manager Trainee," and is already brushing up on his customer service skills. "A lot of customers we know well are like adopted families," Wheeler said. "Many of the grandparents here like to spoil him and he loves it." Caleb gets to be with his mom on the campground and add his part to the family atmosphere that is part of the Valdosta campground. Wheeler came to the campground in 2004 after working at a preschool. One year later they made her manager. "I have met so many wonderful people and enjoyed every bit of it," she said. Her manager responsibilities don't stop Wheeler from jumping in on a camper's bridge game or spending time talking to their guests. "There are those faithful who like to come around.
